Sorry guys but we haven't even heard the album and two months before it's gonna come out we're already critisizing it.
Meaning Of Soul and A Bell Will ring didn't go down too well at Glastonbury however, Oasis in general didn't go down to well at Glastonbury anyway, i personally (and i know i'm not alone) thought the performance was mediocre and flat.
It's a Crime (Let there be love) wasn't on Standing On the Shoulders of Giant because it wasn't good enough... it wouldn't have fitted in with the album anyway. The version we have all heard is a demo, so much could change between the actual thing and the demo (think of The Hindu Times and Where Did It All Go Wrong?) SOTSOG was a very pshycadelic and individual album, not everybody liked it but personally i did, as far as It's a Crime goes... so much could have changed since then. All Around with World was also held back for about 4 years... (this could be another great song which Noel saved)
That is only 3 tracks of 11, we still have another 8 which we haven't heard. Yet again not all the songs have been written by Noel although everybody is blaming things on him, Gem has written one, Andy has written two and Liam has written some.
Even without Noel's songs we could have a mixture between Heavy Stereo, Hurricane #1 and Ride and Liam's new stuff.
Let's not decide about the album before we've heard it... i thought this forum was here to celebrate the best rock and roll band Britain has ever seen, not to speculate over it.
I still believe in Noel, he has never let us down before. He is my inspiration in music... i personally see Live Forever as musical perfection, i like each and every Oasis album in a different way and listen to them depending on which mood i'm in. Oasis can be listened to no matter what mood people are in, it always makes me feel better when i'm down and lifts you up more when you're happy, that is why Oasis are the greatest band in the world

hey.. if noel said liam has 3 songs in the album, andy 2 and gem 1, we'll only have a few noel' songs you were right in your post, but we all wanted the cd to have more than the usual 11, 12 songs! and we also wished abwr and tmos not to be in the new album.

I think with good production, MOS and ABWR will sound amazing. It's gonna be a class album, no doubt about it.

I think everyone got disapointed because we basically have only eight new songs, 4 of Noel... plus there's no sign of Stop The Clocks which we've been dying to hear for almost an year... I believe the album has great potencial but I've got to addmit that I got a bit disapointed with it too....

Eh, I personally really liked A Bell Will Ring. They say Liam's voice has much improved since Glasto, so I'm really looking forward to hearing the studio version.

Regarding Meaning of Soul and A Bell Will Ring not going down too well at Glastonbury, Noel said in the interview right after the performance that he really enjoyed playing DLBIA this time because everybody loves the song now. He said that when they played it at Glastonbury 95, everyone was just like "okay, whatever, now play Up in the Sky." I personally like the songs, and I think it may be a somewhat similar situation. I'm not comparing those two songs to DLBIA, but I think you know what I'm getting at.

I am just as pumped for the B-sides as I am the album. With 66 songs, they will either have some kick ass B-sides or they plan to release another album shortly (hopefully not 3 years later!). Either way, this album will be tops.

As far as I know, you have not heard the new material yet. According to Noel, Andy's songs are the ones that sound the most like Oasis in the new album and I am sure that he wasn't talking about instrumentals when he was referring to them. And by the way, Andy also wrote "Thank You for the Good Times" during the Heathen Chemistry period. The only reason that it was not on the album is because Noel didn't want HC to be too mellow. Your post shows that you know very little about Andy's background and underrate highly his songwriting abilities. Maybe you should buy some Ride/Hurricane #1 albums to find how great he really is. Songs like Vapor Trail, Dream Burn Down, Paralyzed , In a different Place, Drive Blind, Step into my World, Just another Illusion, Monday Afternoon are few among his vast repertoire a quality songs. They are way better than TYFTGT and guess what? THEY ARE NOT INSTRUMENTALS!!!. You should check them out, or maybe just go buy "Nowhere" or "Going Blank Again" maybe they will change your opinion about Andy and raise your expectations about his contribution to the band!
