Am I wrong that this is a fuckin' old b-side demo from the SOTSOG era? I have some song listed as 'It's a crime' with just Noel on guitar...Am I right that 6 years later they are coming back to something that wasn't even worthy for the crappiest of Oasis albums, SOTSOG? This is very disappointing news...

Let's just hope that the song has been changed.
It could be paced differently. Could be electric. Liam could sing etc.
I still believe that he is holding back from Sony a lot of the other 55 songs will be coming soon.
This could be a major business decision.
Why is everyone freaking out!!!!

This could be a major business decision. Why is everyone freaking out!!!! its not really freakin out man, just curiousity after 3 years and scrapping tunes to come out with a sotsog reject and 2 glasto dissapointments is weird.as for it bein a buisness move I dont think so cause if this lp bombs then after sellin just 124,000 copies of HC IN THE USA to be followed up with some dissapointing tunes can be a fatal blow to them here in the states ,i have faith that this lp will be great but i can see why some are concerned. PS the only time i freak out is when "chemicals are involved"

I just listened to Meaning of Soul from Poole and the recording (live & unprofessional) is shit so I tried to imagine it re-done in studio and I think this song will freakin' rock.
I remember ( yes i was one of them) when I downloaded the entire HC album before release and I didn't like half of it.
Then I bought the album and it's my 2 or 3rd fave (DM then i go back and forth between it and MG)
I just imagine what BHN would be like if it was re-recorded. Stripped down and not turned to 11.
I would be it would be the Classic everyone wanted.
Production is real important.
For example I see a split almost down the middle (between fans) for Songbird and the demo of Songbird.
Songs are so very different but both would be titled songbird on the album.

All this concern about 'Let There Be Love'... I just wanna give you all an example...
in 1968 John Lennon among other songs, recorded an acoustic demo of a song called 'Child Of Nature'. You could hear by the demo that the song had potencial, but nothing really outstanding, but the Beatles never recorded it and in 1971 during his solo career, John recovered this song with a new set of lyrics, a great instrumental backing and it became a CLASSIC. It's one of IMHO John's best songs ever, 'Jealous Guy'.
So let's wait and hear the album...

I've got to say I did a huge double take when I saw the tracklisting and spotted Let There Be Love as the closer.
I can only imagine they've done a hell of a lot of work on it since the Giants demos.
Does this mean that for the next album (the one after this) we can expect Solve My Mystery?
I know - the one after that will have Angel Child on it ;D
Seriously though, I reckon they MUST have done some SERIOUS work on Let There Be Love, A Bell Will Ring and The Meaning Of Soul to put them on the album.
Hope so anyway...

This is their most waited album in years, this is the album for which they'll do their more important US tour til 1997. I really can't figure they'll do an average album just because it's the last one with Sony. If this would be true, a lot of people will be disappointed and they'll go downhill in people eyes...

let there be love is great. i love the subtle chord changes. it sounds like quiet pink floyd circa 1969-71.
furthermore, i don't ever recall anyone involved with the band saying the song was a sotog reject. from what i remember, noel said it didnt fit on the album and would probably turn up later.

let there be love, in its present form (and if 'getting older' is any indication, near final form) is a good track but probably shouldn't close the album. i remember that it took me hours to download let there be love, getting older, and solve my mystery (or revolution song) when i first came across them shortly after sotsog. it was with a real sense of accomplishme nt (lost in these days of high-speed and broadband that i burned them on to a cd and stuck them proudly in the collection. At the time, getting older was my favourite of the three. I was kind of surprised when they released it as a b-side (although the lyrics are as far from the oasis base camp as you could probably get so that would probably explain that). At least Let there be Love is better then the turgid Solve My Mystery (took my faith and put it in a headlock-yuck!). and i'm sure that someone else has already mentioned this, but why didn't noel put let there be love on heathen chemistry well atleast let there be love sounds better then its a crime

I still find it staggering though that the band supposedly scrapped around "60 or so" songs - only then to revert back to two tunes that got a very muted reaction at Glastonbury (A Bell Will Ring and Meaning Of Soul) and a bland demo from 1999 that hasn't made it on to their last two albums.
I don't actually mind A Bell Will Ring too much - although it was a bit repetitive at Glasto and seems to be in dire need of a chorus.
Meaning Of Soul I'm less keen on - ditto for Let There Be Love. I hope they've given them a pretty major overhaul.
We'll soon know!
