I really love both of these tunes. I Hope, I Think, I Know is one of the more underrated Oasis tunes, IMO.
However, is it just me or are Stay Young and I Hope, I Think, I Know both pretty similar? The guitar parts are VERY similar. Anybody else think so?

I really love both of these tunes. I Hope, I Think, I Know is one of the more underrated Oasis tunes, IMO. You couldn't be more right. I personally LOVE both those songs, and I think the only reason IHITIK isn't too popular is cos it wasn't an outstanding tune on BHN... which wasn't too popular of an album... which then leads to IHITIK being extrmeely underated any thoughts on this?

same here... I love both songs... BHN's my favourite album, it contains my favourite song - "Don't Go Away" beautiful
so what they're similar, that's Noel's "thing"...!!

I like Stay Young, but I think IHITIK is one of my favourite songs off BHN which you are right it is is definitiely under-rated - it's a bit bloated - but it's still really good - any album with DYKWIM, Stand by me, IHITIK, don't go away, all around the world and magic pie is awesome and the reprise is really good too. There was such a high level of expectation that practically anything would be a disappointment - irrational but that's how our brains work i think. (that was the case for me and 'antics')

IHITIK is a fucking excellent rock and roll track. But Stay Young beats it.

You're right, they are similar. I think a lot of bands might have two songs similar in melody. Usually they'll stick one on the album and use the other as a B-side. If I recall correctly, Noel chose IHITIK over Stay Young because he didn't want both on the album presumably due to their similarities. Regardless, I love both songs on their own merits.

Not many people know this but IHITIK was released as a radio single in the United States. It got fuck all in terms of radio play but if you were lucky you might have heard it in some mall department store. hahaha. That's where I heard it. I've also heard She Is Love in some stores. Very unexpected.

In terms of my favourite Oasis songs i'm sure 'Stay Young' would be in and around there. Noel's acoustic version on some radio show is amazing and i think the better of the two's but Noel does always have that emotional link to a song which maybe he gets because he wrote them, i don't know tbh.
'I Hope I Think I Know' is a good song and one that i likem infact i listen to it very rarely but i like the energy about it and the high speed of it all, good song for when you're young, in a good mood and enjoying life. ;D
