a couple of you, at a thread nearby, were talking about the possabilites of oasis making it into the rock and roll hall of fame. While i am not sure about their inclusion into the hall in Cleveland, I am pretty sure they would make it into the L4E hall of fame. So lets start one. We can do it like the baseball writers did it in 1936 when they started the baseball hall of fame in cooperstown. lets vote in five bands and five oasis songs into our hall of fame i'll keep a tally of your votes and update periodically to bring the page up until interest is satiated. (and to those of you who have done these ad noseum, appease me please, i need something to do until some REAL new album info arrives.  thanks btw, here are my five hall of fame bands/acts 1 oasis 2 beatles 3 beach boys 4 velvet underground 5 robert johnson and five hall of fame oasis tracks 1 live forever 2 gas panic! 3 stop crying your heart out 4 whatever 5 slide away |

okay here are our results after the first day of voting...
BANDS
14 total votes
1 beatles (14 votes- that's right, they have been on every ballot so far-which is, i suppose, not very surprising but still quite impressive)
2 oasis (12 votes- the other two ballots mentioned the obvious, that of course oasis is a non-brainer as a shoe in for inclusion in our hall, but chose to give their vote to another band.)
3 rolling stones (5 votes- note the drop off from the first two bands)
4 tie. jimi hendrix and the who (four votes each)
total bands acts with at least one vote : 28
OASIS SONG
13 total votes
1(tie) live forever
champagne supernova - 9 votes each
3 slide away- 6 votes
4 don't look back in anger-5 votes
5 four songs tied with 3 votes each
total songs receiving at least one vote : 25
this one is still way to close to tell.
as for the 'wall of shame'... my votes would go to...
1 Pat Boone- for his part in turning the sex grind of early rock and roll into vanilla pudding.
2 Milli Vanilli- for lip syncing their way to a grammy[
3 Sid Vicious- because at the end of the day he was just a stupid, fucked up junkie of a little boy who couldn't play the bass and showed himself to be generally devoid of any talent.
4 Ashlee Simpson- riding her sisters coattail, lip syncing on SNL, wining all the way through her reality show and thinking she is the real deal through the whole charde.
5 Celine Dion- the skinniest, whitest diva.
all right, i'll update in a few days.

ps. not that i'm trying to sway the voters but i'd just like to say that without robert johnson there may well have been no rock and roll as we know it.
