Morning Glory's great. But just imagine if they'd switched some of what went onto the b-sides and what went onto the album. Just imagine that THIS was Morning Glory. There'd be no dispute as to what was their best album, IMO.
(What's the Story) Morning Glory
1. Acquiesce - an album opener almost as perfect as Rock n' Roll Star
2. Round Are Way - Should have at least made The Masterplan. I love Roll With It but Round Are Way is better. Had THIS gone up against Country House it would have won.
3. Wonderwall
4. Don't Look Back in Anger
5. Underneath the Sky - Nice change of pace, different sound, doesn't drag like Hey Now
6. [instrumental]
7. Some Might Say
8. The Masterplan - Epic #1. Maybe sung by Liam.
9. Rockin' Chair - Another nice change of pace. Minor key with one of Liam's best vocals. An understated almost all acoustic song.
10. Morning Glory
11. [instrumental]
12. Champagne Supernova
The songs I left off would be b-sides: Hello, Hey Now (maybe 2 minutes shorter), Cast No Shadow, Roll With It, She's Electric.
What do you guys think?
*NOTE: On Edit, switched the order of "Rockin' Chair" and "The Masterplan" on a second thought.

I'm not a huge fan of the song, but you can't have WTSMG without She's Electric, its one of the defining tracks of the album IMO.

Well, I suppose you could have another track on there I mean - the album was originally supposed to have 11 songs not 10 but "Step Out" had to be cut. I still prefer my lineup with She's Electric as a b-side. But I guess if you prefer... 1. Acquiesce 2. Round Are Way 3. Wonderwall 4. Don't Look Back in Anger 5. Underneath the Sky 6. 7. Some Might Say 8. She's Electric 9. Rockin' Chair 10. The Masterplan 11. Morning Glory 12. 13. Champagne Supernova

it may sound a bit old but "if it aint broke dont fix it" your version sounds good enough but the THE CHEIF i think had the right idea with the track list and songs on WTSMG and i aint about to disagree with his choices especially in that era when he could do know wrong...JMO

I would actually do out with the swamp song (the untitled instrumental), completely. It basically serves no point IMO, and when I listen to the CD i always skip it, even if I'm in that "listen to the album completely through" mode.
here's mine...could be called what's the story masterplan.
1. Acquiesce 2. Roll With it 3. Round Are Way (EDITED VERSION) 4. Wonderwall 5. Don't look Back in Anger (Morning glory acoustic segment) 6. Some might Say 7. Cast No Shadow 8. She's Electric 9. Morning Glory 10. Champagne Supernova (EDITED VERSION) 11. Masterplan
Maybe underneath the sky or whatever thrown in...I like my version because it's packed with ALL good songs. Weak link would be round are way, cast no shadow and some might say, but otherwise they are all singles/singles candidates, and a powerful album.
Not too long either. I have a very short attention span (not necessarily bad for a songwriter).

Bonehead's Bank Holiday should have been on all versions. It's such a good tune.

"10. Champagne Supernova (EDITED VERSION)"
No way, every second of the 7mins 27 seconds of that song is awesome for me, any shorter and it loses its effect for me, I've heard the radio edit a good few times and it loses something!

you all have great ideas but I honestly think that if they had done everything you're saying we all would have died in an orgasmic state after hearing it. And that would be no good because we wouldn't be able to here any more of their later stuff.
All though I do like the idea of a double disk.

Some intresting points Slideaway but....(and you knew that was coming, lol) although i really like 'Hello' and think it is the best gig opener, i have to agree 'Acquiesce' would have been an amazing start to the album, instead of replacing 'Round Are Way' with 'Roll With It' i would have them both and dispose of 'She's Electric', although i do like SE and it was nice to hear Noel sing it on the Heathen Chemistry tour i think having like others have said R.A.W against Country House for 'the brit pop battle' would have been amazing as it just symbolises the difference between the Oasis & Blur and imo 'She's Electric' would better suit 'The Masterplan/B-side' compilation/album. The only thing i would possibly change is swapping 'Hey Now' with 'The Masterplan' although i would have had it later in the album. I don't think you can even think about binning 'Cast No Shadow' as that song is a real 'un-sung hero' of that album. Don't worry i'm not trying to say Noel was wrong as the album is brilliant (although D.Maybe is my real fave) just in hindsight maybe these changes could have mad it even bigger, NOW IMAGINE THAT!
