I was watching a UK music programme called "Planet Rock Profiles" yesterday and they were profiling The Killers. There was some interesting information, some of which we already know, but some new stuff I think: 1. Brandon Flowers saw Oasis for the first time in Las Vegas, 2002. He didn't have a ticket, but just turned up and didn't know who was playing. As if by fate, someone gave him a free ticket and he got into the gig. 2. When in the gig, he had already missed most of it but heard the last 3 songs. Then Liam walked off stage and apparently Noel did an encore of DLBIA. Brandon Flowers stood amazed when he heard the crowd around him erupt in the DLBIA chorus. He was amazed at the way so many people sang so loud "like at some kind of religious ceremony". It was from this moment onwards that he wanted to be in a similar band with sing-a-long songs. 3. The Killers' guitarist (Dave Keuning) says he is a "massive fan" of Oasis. 4. Brandon Flowers was really excited when he heard that Noel was supposed to attend one of their gigs in London (I think it must have been the Shepherds Bush gig in November 2004 - I was there!). Unfortunately, however, Noel didn't show up. 5. However, one Gallagher did show up for that gig - Paul. Which made Brandon laugh out loud when recollecting the story to the interviewer. Anyway, hopefully there's some new info there for you all. Do you think Noel would publically slag The Killers off now that he knows he has been such an inspiration to them? I love the Killers and it would be great for them to support Oasis at one of their headlining summer gigs, don't you think?

Well..they did get to meet oasis. At the recent NME awards.
On the front cover of this weeks issue is a pic of brandon with Noel. Also on the inside there is a pic of Brandon with Liam and Bernard Sumner.
So his wish came true.
I also hope they do a couple gig with Oasis this summer.

He quotes Noel Gallagher as an influence and says that the only reason the band started was after seeing Oasis according to their site on www.purevolume.com/thekillers

I saw some pictures last week of Noel and Johnny Borrell from Razorlight. It's good that all these young susperstars are paying homage to the Chief! ;D Has Noel yet commented on The Killers? It would be interesting to hear his opinions on the band. My hunch is that he would like their music, although perhaps not the live performances, where Brandon can get a bit...daft. Then again, the lead singer from Kaiser Chiefs is no different and apparently Noel likes them, so who knows?

I remember when Noel was on radio 1 a while back to promote the Definitely Maybe DVD, he had a choice of three songs to put on the radio. One of the those tracks was "All these things that ive done" (by the killers incedently) and at the end of the track he said "it doesnt get much better than that!" So its safe to say he is a fan!
