The general feeling among Oasis fans is that Liams voice has changed so much due to drug taking, cigarettes and alcohol, etc. If that's the case, then why hasn't Noel's voice changed a lot? Your opinons?

I think it has changed. Its got a lot 'warmer' as he's got older I think.

yeah, Liam has been using a lot more of his voice than Noel... Although, Liam's voice sounded a LOT better this year in that radio presentation... I also think Noel's voice its greater than ever... listen to Don't Look Back In Anger from 95 and from Glasto'04....

Noel has improved his voice by a lot.
Think of songs like Acquiesce... as has already been said, in 95 it was good but not half as good as it is now.
I think Familiar to Millions is my favourite performance with Noel, listen to his voice on Step Out and Hey Hey, My My.
It also has my favourite ever version of Don;t Look Back In Anger

Noel has one of the best voices in music. Yeah. I like Noel´s voice very much too. Couple of my favourites from Noel are acoustic Live forever and Cast no shadow from Acoustic sessions Vol. 1 bootleg. So emotional and beautiful voice

Noel technically is a great singer and has gotten better. His voice isn't really a lead singers, distinctive voice though. He's more suited for a couple of songs an album.
Liam is the opposite, he can't really sing very well, barely has any range, but his voice sounds great. Or at least it used to.

Noel has one of the best voices in music. not really. his voice is good for the odd songs, like dont look back, lil by lil, etc, but imagine him singin dont go away (not acoustic) all around the world... n other songs... nah sorry bro, i disagree with u oh yeah the fact that noels voice hasnt changed much, is i think because of the fact that Noel is not as big as a drunkard as liam. he can control himself wen he needs to

Yeah, Noel has tamed down as he has gotten older while Liam still lives the rock n roll dream. Shit, I would keep living the rock n roll life style til I couldn't too. On the other hand, it really has affected his voice, for better or worse.

It's really a simple answer, Liam's style of singing is somewhat scratchy where Noel's is much more smooth. So naturally Liam's vocal chords would be affected by his rough style in a way that Noel would not experience. And yes it also has to do with the fact that Liam is a bit loser with the booz.
I think that Noel has a really great voice but to call it the best voice ever might be a bit Facetious. I just believe that other singers some rockers included, ie. John Lennon, had much better voices

You can also tell Noel's voice is at the top of his game when he does stuff by himself like "Whatever" and "Half A World Away" at the Barrowlands (2002)

I think Slide Away acoustic at Chicago'98 is Noel's tops... it's just beautiful man, no words for it... listen to the acoustic set of this gig, Don't Go Away and To Be Someone will also blow you away... the fact is that Noel rules with his acoustic guitar, he can turn a crowd crazy just by himself on stage, I think that's brilliant...

I've got that acoustic set, and yeah its bloody good... and i mean BLOODY good... When Noel sings the songs that suit his voice its just awesome But, however, when I want to get blown away and listen to songs like supersonic... I wanna be listening to Liam. No doubt about it

When I listen to older bootlegs from around 94 I get depressed that Liam's voice changed so much. It use to sound so smooth and awesome.
It was great at Radioaid

Liam's style is scratchier and also his posture with an upright head, leaning at the microphone damages a lot his vocal chords.
so really, you can take shit 24 hours a day like Marylin Manson does - you'll sing as a bird if you can. it has nothing to do with cocaine and it has little to do with cigarettes and alcohol. a friend of mine is a fan of the alcohol (no, he's not alcoholic), he is singing and is now in the university. even if he gets drunk - it's not a big deal for his vocals. and look at Noel, who was drinking even more than Liam.

Hay just think about it there are lots of other rock singers that have great voices and did drugs. Take for instance my earlier reference to John Lennon. He was on all sorts of God knows what and even into late in his career he still had a great voice, like on imagine.

D'yer Wanna Be A Spaceman...Little By Little, it sounds different but you can tell it's the same person
Cigarettes And Alcohol...The Hindu Times, if you were knew to oasis, you cannot say that you think it's the same person.
But on the plus side, it does seem to make Liam unique!
