i just looked at itunes' main menu (american- yeah i know) and i saw OASIS on ARTIST ESSENTIALS!!!! this was what it said:
"For most of America, Oasis' career begins and ends with its second LP, the platinum-approved '(What's the Story) Morning Glory?'. There we find "Wonderwall", an artificially sweetened touchstone of the mid-'90s, and "Champagne Supernova", an overwrought justification for oversized egos. Contrary to popular belief, the before and after was often just as flat-out genius."
HOW ABOUT THEM APPLES!!!! ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D

under 'next steps'....
"Another flimsy assumption about Oasis is that Liam and Noel Gallagher never evolved as songwriters, that they were soccer hooligans masquerading as rock stars for the better part of a decade. The nine-minute "All Around the World" may be as extravagant as expected, but traced of techno and '70s punk exist elsewhere to cleanse most palattes."

under 'deep cuts'...
"B-sides and buried singles are typically a last resort for a stopgap (read: underwhelming) album, yet Oasis put some of its best material on 'The Masterplan". A gleefully sloppy cover of "I Am the Walrus" and the McCartney-cribbing "Rockin' Chair" uphold The Beatles comparisons, while "Going Nowhere" goes so far as referencing Burt Bacharach."

and finally, under 'complete set'... "Bigger than Jesus? How about bigger than The Beatles? That's what the Brothers Gallagher set out to do beginning in 1994 with the wind-tunnel rush of its leadoff "buzz clip", "Supersonic." They never did breach the pinnacles of the Fab Four, creatively or commercially, but as these 45 tracks amply attest, Oasis will forever be regarded as icons of the Brit-pop movement alongside bitter foes Blur. And anyone who likes stadium-ready solos, hooks, or warbled harmonies can certainly appreciate that." Amen, people.

Giant omission right there.
Of course, I might be partial, given my screen name. But seriously - that's one of their best songs (probably THE BEST in my humble opinion). AND it's absolutely ESSENTIAL. How can they include songs like Fuckin' in the Bushes, She is Love, Fade In-Out, Who Feels Love?, and, bafflingly, the 40-second Swamp Song snippet from MG, but not Slide Away?!
On a separate note, I REALLY wish iTunes US would put up all the b-sides and non-album material. Why can't Sony authorize them to release all their UK singles/EPs on iTunes for about $3, like the Stereophonics do? It's a shame that Whatever isn't available, let alone Round Are Way, Step Out, It's Better People, I Got the Fever, Idler's Dream, D'Yer Wanna Be a Spaceman?, Let's all Make Believe, etc. Or, for that matter, Sad Song.

well sony does have their own music store so they may wanna keep some exclusives. but yea having the singles on there would be one of the only legal ways that north america would hear whatever

good point, but this is more a collection for the people who are just starting to get into the band. then they buy the albums, see the other good songs, etc.
you can't just have all the good songs on this thing- then they won't buy the albums!

But Slide Away IS essential. Otherwise, it's a decent list, but how could they not include Slide Away as any of the 45 tracks? Especially when they threw in one of the WTSMG instrumental interludes!
