Princess dianas death was massively over-hyped.
Seriously......i remember her funeral and it was almost like a competition of middle-aged women to see who could cry the loudest.
If i ask people what princess diana actually used to do...the majority have no idea....

Princess Di's death, like other outside factors, can only be accounted for maybe 10% of BHN's failure.
If BHN were produced more subtley and quietly like morning glory, or they used better songs, it would have been less criticized. Although it did make the guiness book of world records for fastest selling album, at one point. (Not anymore mind you).
Princess Di's death is about as accountable to BHN's failure as JFK's death is accountable for The Beatles' success ;D

death or murder? di was off at the deepend before she was wacked!
i remember getting bhn on the day it came out and i nearly returned the cd because i thought it was a shabby oasis cover band! the buildup to that album and the hype and all we got was a "bloated" coke-powered-ego-trip because everyone was scared to tell noel to wise up.
but i dont buy in to the "oasis-killed-diana-because-of-poor-record-sales" theory at all.
i think it was kurt and elvis rock n roll zombies flashing torches from the grassy knoll thus blinding di's driver that killed her.
interesting fact. the doctor who attended the crash and tried to save di was a "john lennon and the first police officer on the scene was called Gordon Matthew Sumner--- spooky, indeed.
