I've made Oasis mixes for many of my friends to introduce them to Oasis. Many of them have heard of them but only know Wonderwall and Champagne Supernova.
Anyway, I've in the past done a 1-disc mix that focused solely on DM, (WTS)MG, and TM. Actually, I asked for your advice guys, and it worked. The person I gave it to loved it.
This time I opted to make a fuller two CD set that includes songs from BNH, SOTSOG, and HC plus some b-sides.
The order is non-chronological, but in general Disc I is more rockers and draws heavily from the DM-era and the MG b-sides. Disc II is mostly MG material plus ballads from SOTSOG and HC to make a very ballad-heavy disc.
I should note I'm making this for a friend who LOVES wonderwall (I'm surprised she isn't a fan already), so I included Wonderwall on both CDs - on Disc II it's the FTM live version.
Check it out:
Disc I: Champagne
1. Rock n' Roll Star 2. Live Forever 3. Wonderwall 4. Round Are Way 5. Talk Tonight 6. Fade Away 7. Going Nowhere 8. Stand By Me 9. Rockin' Chair 10. Where did it all Go Wrong? 11. Supersonic 12. Cigarettes & Alcohol 13. Slide Away 14. The Master Plan
Disc II 1. Acquiesce 2. Who Feels Love? 3. Wonderwall (Live) 4. Roll With It 5. Whatever 6. Songbird 7. Sunday Morning Call 8. Idler's Dream 9. Don't Go Away 10. Little By Little 11. Let's All Make Believe 12. Don't Look Back in Anger 13. Some Might Say 14. Champagne Supernova
There are some significant omissions. In particular DYKWIM?, Go Let it Out, All Around the World - I don't really like those that much though (DYKWIM's okay). Tried to include DYKWIM but it wouldn't fit anywhere.
I DO like Hindu Times, Stay Young, Columbia, and Stop Crying Your Heart Out, but Stay Young and Columbia didn't seem to fit coherently in the set. Hindu Times seemed redundant next to Supersonic and SCYHO, for all its strengths is a little too similar to Slide Away and Wonderwall - it would get redundant. Gas Panic! is great but it just seemed too menacing and I couldn't fit it anywhere.
Obviously some of you may have some slight disagreements, but tell me what you think of this set overall.

They both look pretty good to me I've never been that keen on Who Feels Love (the Dear Prudence rip-off is a bit too obvious) but my girlfriend loves it so it will probably go down well with your mate.
