Oasis are always compared to the Beatles in everything they do. They don't even sound that much like the Beatles. Or any other band. They surely take influences from various bands, and will steal lines or riffs and all that, but they are not the Beatles and I hate it.
I just had an argument with somebody who told me that Oasis were exactly like the Beatles.

yeah, this girl told me that i was biased because I was obsessed with Oasis. But, she'd be biased if anything. The first time I listened to them I didn't think they were the Beatles. I liked them immediately. Me liking or dislking them doesn't make them not sound or sound like the Beatles.
Hell, if the media didn't make a big deal out of Noel and Liam loving them, or lines like the yellow sub one in Supersonic, nobody would really think they sounded like it.

That song was the 1st time I even thought of the Beatles when listening to an Oasis song. And that intro ain't even a Beatles song. Most mo >:(rons don't even get that right. |

It's not actually Imagine...
if you sit down at a Piano and play the beginning to DLBIA amd Imagine they are different
DLBIA is just C and F, Imagine is C, Cmaj7 and then F
they sound alike but there is actually another chord inbetween

pretty much the difference is a different chord being played in the middle
It still sucks when people compare Oasis and the Beatles...
People say that noel steals stuff from them (and other people)... i wrote a song the other day but i played it again and found out that the guitar part is the same as part of Hide Your Love Away (so that's buggered that up, hasn't it)

that cmaj7 is just a passing note....not much dif as far as im concerned but oasis still dont sound like the beatles. Def influenced by the beatles, but not like them

Well personally i dont see how they sound anything like the beatles............... but if people say they think they do, isnt it really a complimant to Oasis? ;D Oasis matter more than the beatles to me but, u cant say the beatles were anything short of a good band (i like probably the majority of their songs & im only 17).If anyone ever says to me 'oasis sound like the beatles' with the intention of putting them down, i would just respond with 'and how the HELL is tht a bad thing?', after protesting tht they actually dont sound anything like the beatles i the first place tht is, obviously |

Well it says they're unoriginal and wouldn't have gotten so big if it wasn't for the Beatles. that's really unfair because apart some influences (which is the case for every band) oasis music is very different from the beatles' music... i've started listening a bit to the beatles after reading everywhere that oasis were copying them...and i found really nothing similar!!!moreover it was be here now period...magic pie and she loves you have really nothing in common lol |

every band has its influences, just so happens oasis' main influence is probably the most famous and rekognisable u can get.
noel openly admits it tho, i think thats what pisses people off most. His so called "arrogance". I think its good that he comes across like that.
