Nat & Nic Take Liams Abroad (Telling Them It Was Margate, Obsiously)

AH, the Virgin Islands. Playground of the body beautiful brigade, the chic, the sophisticated...and, er, those who think they're at Margate.

You can usually trust Liam Gallagher to lower the tone. And in this case he did it by staying at a £3,000-a-night Caribbean hotel and wearing a pork pie-style hat (left) that should have been put down for its own protection... as should his stomach. Not that he was alone in being a bit of a chav.

Although fiancee Nicole Appleton, 30, kept the chic side up at the Little Dix Resort on the Virgin Gorda isle, her sister, I'm A Celebrity star Natalie, 31, came out in a cap that would look at home on an Essex market stall. And Natalie's husband, Prodigy frontman Liam Howlett, 33, gave all the appearance of expecting to have six pints and a fish and chip supper... Oasis singer Liam stayed true to form by kicking up a fuss almost as soon as he arrived at the resort.

A member of staff at the beachside Pavilion restaurant was stunned when he got a mouthful of abuse for politely asking Liam to put out a cigarette.

He then marched the rest of the group, who had been finishing their meals, back to their suites in protest. Next morning he was in another sulky mood when a wave soaked him on the beach. He then turned on a local for taking his picture.

Later as temperatures soared into the 30s, Liam and the rest went snorkelling to cool off. The men looked like a pair of overweight seals as they lounged on a floating raft.

And naughty Liam risked the group getting kicked off the resort by almost revealing Nicole's boobs as he snapped open her bikini.

An onlooker said: "Nicole was furious when he opened her top - there are strict rules on the island not to go topless." Unable to get to grips with his huge clown-like flippers and diving mask, he soon dived back in the sea.

One holidaymaker said: "If he was trying to be incognito in his camouflage gear, he didn't do a good job.

"And putting on all that weight must be taking its toll - Liam looked like a fat clown instead of Mr Rock and Roll."
