Oasis classic to feature on The O.C
Oasis are to get a boost in the US - one of their biggest American hits is to be used on The O.C.
The Fox TV show will feature Champagne Supernova on its upcoming season finale - but not Oasis' original version.
American indie rockers Matt Pond PA have covered the song which in 1996 reached the US Top 40 and topped the Billboard Modern Tracks chart for five weeks.
Although Oasis' debut album 1994's Definitely Maybe went Gold in the US selling more than 700,000 to date the band's last album 2002's Heathen Chemistry only debuted at No. 23 in America before disappearing from the chart after a matter of weeks.
The band's sixth as-yet-untitled album due on May 16 has been partly recorded in Los Angeles.

The OC sucks its a fucking kiddie/teenybopper show but, I'll watch it that day so that its rating go up BECAUSE of the OASIS song. Hopefully it'll convert some of their fans to Oasis fans.  |

terrible news - if you want the song use the original artist, don't have some unknown shitty band do a cover version. Does Noel have any say as to letting them do this?

as long as you pay roylites and dont change the song at all , you dont have to ask permission , althought most bands always do out of curtisy

They're not really the usual unknown band of studio musicians the network puts together, they're a legit band.
