NME talked with The Village's CEO Jeff Greenberg who had nothing but praises for the new Oasis album due out this year. "Oasis were pretty cool guys and the album is very impressive. The sound is very different from the familar mid 90's Oasis sound but people will be pleasantly surprised. It should do very well!" Long time Oasis fan Bill Corgan, formerly of The Smashing Pumpkins, who is currently recording his first solo record at The Village also had a listen to the record and told NME "I listened to there first single and I was shocked to hear Liam wrote it. I only thought Noel could write stuff that good."

It wouldn't be the first time they mocked Oasis. In their Champagne Supernova cover, and I use the term "cover" loosely, Corgan did a mocking rendition of Champagne Supernova. Then D'arcy teased James Iha for liking Oasis. Even though Corgan is a fan, I think he was a bit peeved when Noel called Smashing Pumpkins "rubbish" on a radio show in Berkeley. But that was a while ago.

ah you see, i don't think she was. Judging by the tone in her voice, I think she was being sarcastic. Even then, when Oasis were at their peak in the US, the idea of Oasis being the next Beatles was mocked. It was a perfect opportunity for D'arcy, a bitch, to throw in a dig by bringing up the comparison.

I read somewhere that Noel wanted "Born on a different cloud" as first single for HC, but Liam was scared of having a first single out. I don't know if the story about the new one it's true...but it's possible.
