OASIS are the target in a fierce bidding war that could net LIAM and NOEL GALLAGHER a massive £15million record deal. Major labels are fighting to sign the boys after their Sony contract runs out in the summer. I hear that bosses from companies including EMI and V2 have been told to pull out all the stops to land the group. The competition may even lead Sony to come up with more cash to get the Gallaghers on board again. Oasis could eventually sign a three-album deal worth £15 million. A music industry insider told me: "Various record labels have been waiting patiently for the contract to end. "Now it's a question of who puts the most money down on the table. "Everybody wants Liam and Noel. They are still an act who can sell millions of records." The mad-fer-it brothers are currently mixing their next album in the studio with guitarist GEM ARCHER and bassist ANDY BELL. Noel said: "We recorded the album three times and it's come out really good. "We've written 66 songs between the four of us. "We were going to do a double album but we didn't want to give Sony that much as it's our last album with them." The boys will do a UK tour in the summer for which 330,000 tickets have already been sold. www.thesun.co.uk/article/0,,4-2005032125,00.html

Good news about the "fierce bidding war." Signing a big contract with one of these large record companies means a high likelyhood of better band promotion, a responsibility Sony failed at miserably.

Regardless of who signs them in the future, all this news is still great. It's giving them an oppertunity to get back into the news and generate publicity for their upcoming album.
I think 15 mil is still low for a group of ther calibre. Then again with the way music sales have declined, it may be good.
