First question...I'm sure this has been mentioned many times on this board but i have never seen an actual thread about it...Here goes...Is it just me is Wonderwall actually as good as it is made out to be? It is knowhere near my favourite oasis songs and i have heard others say this. Also whenever i see the band play the song live they never seem to enjoy it, like when they play other songs like Live Forever and suchlike. Personally i don't think it is a patch on Live Forever and much prefer Stop Crying Your Heart which i think are pretty similar songs. Maybe Wonderwall was a good song but made massive at the time, i don't know but i would like to hear your thoughts on it...also i much prefer the song electric like on the album when they play it live. ;D My 2nd question is a mate of mine reckons that at the Wembley gig on the first night during the bands performance of Wonderwall the camera crew filming the footage for the DVD fooked up so the version we get on the DVD was actually the band singing the song for the second time. Is this true? Can anyone shed anymore light on this? This would explain Liam's pissed off persona while singing the track on the DVD version and the crowds subdued 'sing-a-long' to it. Happy New Year!

I think a few of you guys miss understood my point on question 1. I'm not saying i do not rate the song, because i do, all i am trying to say is i can't believe it gets all the hype it does because i think songs like Live Forever, SCYHO and Champagne Supernova are much better but rarley get a mention and i think what slightly 'puts me off' Wonderwall at times is exactly what 'robdewhirst' posted whenever you mention you are listening to Oasis they always go 'oh the wonderwall band' and give me a mocking rendition and i think to myslef you stupid fuckers listen to Live Forever and and start slagging that off you muppet.
On question 2 Dominic you mis-undertand me mate, i'm not saying the version of Wonderwall we get on the DVD of the first wembley gig is from the SECOND night, no, what i am saying is that the version we get on the DVD is the bands second version on the FIRST night because they was asked to sing it again because the camera crew fooked up in the recording, well that's according to my mate anyway...can anyone confirm that?

no because Liam was wearing different clothes as were the rest of the band most likely
Wonderwall is a great song but i don't think Liam and Noel like it as much because it was overplayed, the same thing happened with Nirvana, they hated playing Smells Like Teen Spirit

keithlard...am I the only one who understands yer fookin question??? What he is asking is if oasis had to perform wonderwall TWICE on the first night of wembley, thus there would be no dif in the clothes any of them were wearing...Now im curious, I have no idea

I doubt it, they'd probably just cut it and tape the second night's Wonderwall (and say on the DVD that it's performed theb)
Secondly, Liam walks off halfway through the song... why would they keep it in if he did that in the second take? Surely if they were that bothered the first time they'd do it again after Liam got pissed off, fix the light and do it again?

If You Go To Istore through Itunes u can go to a thing called celbereaty playlists , and if u look at avril lagivnes she has wonderwall from FTM and she mentions how she loves the guitars , she has only like 7 songs and wonderwall is one so she must really like it ,she fit avril lavigne? what did she say about wonderwall?

I Dont think Oasis are assosited with wonderwall at all, i think if u say oasis people always say yea the band with them asshole gallagher brothers , i find loads of people dont like them mainly because of laim , hes given like a bad name to the band and in a way to his brother , if laim got on like chris matrin i think oasis would have conqered the us easly , but i wounlt have them anyother wat oasis arnt a "nice to meet you band" their a "fck off band" proper rock n roll

Wonderwall is a great song but i don't think Liam and Noel like it as much because it was overplayed, the same thing happened with Nirvana, they hated playing Smells Like Teen Spirit I think LDD is the only person who really understood where i was going with the Wonderwall first question. As he mentioned about Nirvana not liking Teen Spirit because although it being an amazing song it was overplayed and over exposed and i think that is what happened with me and Wonderwall, although i do still love the song, and he agreed with me on Liam and Noel not liking it as much now for the same reasons as me and Nirvana, Teen Spirit. Anyway enough of all that! I remain adamant about question 2 though, i am sure they performed Wonderwall twice on the first night because the camera crew fooked up on the filming (is their anyone on the board who went to the Wembley first night gig and was not drunk re: iamthewalrus )and could confirm if they did or didn't perform Wonderwall twice?. Infact i'm sure the mate who mentioned it as the audio performance of alleged 1st version of the song. I'll try and get him to dig it out.

Well, I can definitely confirm that the version in the cd it's NOT from the second night.... that's because I have it on video and mp3, and Noel's backing vocals are different from the version in the cd... he actually sings the "you're my wonderwall" part together with Liam, like he does sometimes (Rock in Rio, Detroid'99, etc...), and he doesn't in the cd... so makes a lot more sense if they played it twice...
