I was thought that it was because he was bold.. but a friend of mine was telling me the story of the skinheads and how there are a whole lots of types and all.. anyway, one of the types of skinheads is called "bonehead". Anyone who´s seen the pink floyd movie "the wall" will remember those soldiers made of tools.. apparently those things represent the "Boneheads" Now, does the nickname have anything to do with this at all? Oh and if the story is kinda confusing, let me know and i´ll try to explain it better.. ;D

I used to have an interview CD with Noel and Bonehead where he explained it. If I remember it correctly, he said that all the other kids had long hair when he was growing up but his parents were strict Irish Catholics and they made him cut his hair that way. So the kids called him Bonehead and it stuck. I'm not sure if that has anything to do with the skinhead thing, though.

Didn't even know he was Irish. Kinda funny actually, I thought he had a face as stiff as a bone or somethin' just like those stories made inspired because he's lookin' so dull in the Wonderwall vid. Yeh know the one's in which he's always lookin' up from something and says a nice Oasis lyric.

I thought it was becasue "he was so bald you could almost see his skull" sort of thing, therefore = bonehead lol

Bonehead got the name Bonehead because of his receding hairline (i.e. cos he was balding).
