when jet has arrived i've read many comparisons between them and oasis but they don't seem to be very influenced by them...the same for the libertines... moreover jet members have said once that oasis members were old and finished even in their music i can't find any real influence... magazines always want to compare a new band to an old one... when the strokes came up they were told to be influenced by television whereas they even didn't know the band...

i heard that about Kasabian but the others don't seem very influenced my Oasis!
I'm influenced... the singer in my band gets so pissed off because i'm gonna make him cover Stand By Me (so i get the cool guitar riffs ;D)

I looking to start a band influenced by Oasis in Edmonton. It's tough to find people thatare skilled musicians that has the same influences as me.

Is it just me or are Kasabian really not that good.
Everyone seems to be bigging them up at the moment (NME particularly) but I don't get it.
The songs are a bit weak sounding and the guitarist looks ridiculous.
And what the fcuk is a "processed beat" when it's at home?
Oasis influenced a lot of bands (Northern Uproar, Hurricane Number One etc) who aren't around anymore because they couldn't hold a candle to Oasis.
I think anyone who tried to compete has realised they are a pretty unique band and there is only room for one Oasis in this world so they have stopped.
For example, when Embrace started out Danny McNamara went on and on about being better than them and it didn't do his band any favours at all.
