So do I understand correctly that the UK audience has chosen Robbie over Oasis to represent the 90's ?
Robbie Williams, Michael Jackson and the Rolling Stones were also among those inducted into the hall of fame at a star-studded ceremony.
The public has chosen one act to represent each decade since the Fifties as part of a new Channel 4 show. Robbie represents the 1990s, Jacko the '80s, Queen the '70s, the Rolling Stones the '60s and Sir Cliff Richard the '50s.
As well as Madonna, other honorary members included Bob Marley, Elvis Presley, U2 and the Beatles.

Just goes to show the intelligence of the average British tv watcher I guess - Cliff Richard over Elvis, and Robbie 'I'm so scared' Williams over Oasis.
What a load of toss!

totally agree... last year i've been in england and instead of finding rock'n'roll and especially oasis i've only seen black eyed peas, usher, britney spears and beyoncé on TOTP...
very disappointed by england... however they have great music stores... ;D

good point globe,, thats probably what put robbie over the top ..but i gotta say i get to the UK twice a year since the 80s and the difference in what they play in clubs in both the north and london is amazing. even in clubs that i used to hear buzzcocks, smiths, oasis,,i now hear shite music like kylie alot more frequently at these same places,,definatly think alot more uk youth are into shittier music than before (but i know there are still young kids with taste,,AND BESIDES NO KIDS IN THE WORLD HAVE WORSE TASTE THAN HERE IN NYC,BRITTANY EMINEM NELLY,,GETTIN SICK JUST TYPIN IT )

Cliff Richard over Elvis, and Robbie 'I'm so scared' Williams over Oasis. in america, we don't know who the hell cliff richard is!!! (i do, and he's nothing compared to the king- if not elvis, how about some respect for chuck berry, little richard, or RAY CHARLES???) and robbie williams just ceases to amaze me. stupid people are everywhere. and the rolling stones over THE BEATLES? ? oh come on!!!! with all due respect to mick, keith, ron, charlie, brian, and mick, you have to be kidding me. and with all respects to queen, i'd have to go with zep for the '70s. and michael jackson OWNED the 1980s. no complaints with that one. but the 90s were oasis (and to americans, nirvana (unfortunately- pearl jam was so much better for fuck's sake))

Guys guys, y this panic ? You and I know Oasis is better. But those fuckin mothers and girls with their mobile phones sticked on ther ears has chosen Robbie. They're about bumblegum, milkshakes and Robbie, not about good music. I do agree that Radiohead, Blur, Oasis and Nirvana were the '90ies toppers !
fortunally some know about real music ...
