Oasis set.
I don't know if this has been done many times before on this board and i'm not exactly sure if this is the right place to do it as i am newish to this board and its fookin great!
!
So anyway, What is everyone's favourite oasis setlist if they could chose, I know we could easily fill a 30 track set if it was up to us but the last few gigs i have listened to have had a 17 (including F'KIN IN THE BUSHES or THE SWAP SONG) track set so lets use that as our base. You can choose any oasis track whether it be a b-side, a cover or a plain old classic single..............In order please if you can.......here's mine to get us going:-
1) F'kin in the bushes - imo this is a much better opener than the swap song as there is a greater sense of anticipation when this starts booming out.
2) Hindu Times - Great song under-used as the real opener imo.
3) Supersonic - i think u have gotta get the crowd rocking from the start so this will be a massive help. I think when they tried GO LET IT OUT and WHO FEELS LOVE at wembley it killed the crowd before they even got going.
4) Acquiesce - Another good 'crowd jumper' at the start of the gig....good song but hated it when they played it last on a tour 1 year.
5) Columbia - Starting to bring it down slightly so i put this one in as the lads can really boom this 1 out at times.
6) Who Feels Love - Really started to like this track and i think it will slot in nice with columbia.
7) Don't Go Away- Haven't this live too many times and don't expect to hear it much in the future but when i have heard it live it 'nearly bloo my bloody head off' to qoute our Liam.
8) Morning Glory - Pick things up again with this classic. Heard the best version of this the other day at a gig in scotland in 2001 i think.
Start of Noel's much loved and missed acoustic set.
9) Whatever - This song would defo be in my top 10 oasis songs of all time and noel does a good version himself.
10) Fade Away - Heard noel perform this mtv unplugged i think and was blown away...i always like the liam version but thought it was a bit too rocky and couldn't always hear the lyrics very well.
11) Don't Look Back In Anger - Classic. Would be nice to hear it acousitcley again like at mtv unlpugged.
End of Noel's acousitc set but he keep the acoustic quitar and Liam re-renters.
12) Wonderwall (acoustic) - You have too play this song really. Personally i dont think it is any better than ROCK N ROLL STAR or anywhere near as good as LIVE FOREVER but i still have respect for the song that 'crossed' the band over. Much better acoustic in my view, re: Maine Road 96'.
13) Cig and Alcohol - Had to fit it in somewhere....tune!........Get the crowd jumping again after all thos songs about love
.
14) Roll With It - Keep em jumping with just a blatant rock n roll tune. ;D
15) Rock 'n' Roll Star - Still after all these years as fresh as it was in 94'
ENCORE
16) Champagne Supernova - A close-ish call between this and STOP CRYING but i went for this one manily for sentimental reasons. I adore STOP CRYING btw.
17) Live Forever - Had to be done. IMO, The best song ever written by oasis and a perfect track to play at the very end of a gig.
Anyway that's my penny shucked in. Looking foward to hearing a few other oasis fanatics opinions on my list or there own.
