Hi! I'm an italian fan. It's true that USA have forgotten Oasis, in the last years? Oasis are famous, today, in United States? Sorry for my english.

heh, You're english is readable. No reason to worry. Oasis never really focused on the USA. The USA is different than most places in the western world. It's big, cultural things are always changing, including music. Oasis didn't really focus on the USA that much to stay in focus with the people. But Oasis still has many many many fans here, despite not being in the spotlight. I'm an American

its rare for an british band to make it big in america and even if they do its usualy just for 5 minutes and there forgotten, its like shortdude123 said oasis never really focused on america, for lots of reasons, including liam doesn't like touring america and noel's said he didn't care if they didnt break america but like shortdude123 there are still many fans there, take this forum for example its an american forum after all

they don't focus on the USA but they also forget other countries where they have many fans!!! they make big tours in the UK and few gigs in other countries...they don't come very often in france whereas it's near england i've read many times that their don't like touring for a long time because they want to see their families...and at some point they (liam and noel) have an argument... they do like the strokes, they do big tours in their home countries and only few gigs everywhere else even if their have loads of fans!

I think part of the problem with Oasis not being big in the USA anymore is the fact that few non-American bands are promoted well here in the States. You almost think that the American music industry is trying to make you feel unpatriotic if you dig music from a non-American group. (May be a stretch, but it's just a thought)
It's hard to believe how well HC did in Canada, yet was non-existant on the charts for the most part in the country right below it. Go fig.
And trying to find the DM DVD here in America was another example of how Oasis is considered a non factor by the powers that be as it was next to impossible to find. Thank God for Ebay.
Forgive the rambling, but I'm just glad for forums like this where I can connect with other Oasis fans here in the states and around the world to help keep me in the loop since the mainstream outlets have been no help at all.
Here's hoping Oasis comes to Cleveland in '05.

In the past (1994-1998) Oasis make big tour in the USA because they sold many albums in your country. Now they sold a little number of copies in the Usa, therefor Oasis make big tour in countries where they sold many many copies (in the rest of the world, practically!).

They were big around What's the Story Morning Glory. After Be Here Now everybody forgot about them. EXACTLY MATE! after mornin glory came the MTV disaster the cancelled gigs on every tour and LIAM spitting on the stage at the american music awards all that led to OASIS NOT BEING played on the radio which led them to selling fewer and fewer records here . thats the main reason BHN was hardly noticed here and the next 2 as well
