Did the album The Masterplan have enough umph to be a A-Side album? I'm listening to it right now and Acquiesce, Underneath the Sky, Talk Toniight, The Masterplan, and a few others are really class songs. I love listening to the album and I don't think of it as songs that just didn't cut it. I've heard albums from bands like Metallica, Red Hot Chilli Peppers, Radiohead, etc and they all have albums I would consider B-Side albums. Amnesiac, Re-Load, and One Hot Minute. Those albums feel like the lesser material from the band, but The Masterplan has some great hits. Im not a shakermaker or swamp song fan but besides those, I really dig this album. What you do you guys think?

i wouldn't say so. they just threw in any song, and it ended up not flowing smoothly. it was a great idea, but it's just kitchen-sinking to me. and they edited i am the walrus and listen up. and if i were them, after this new album, i'd do another volume.

I think its top notch ... It may not flow all that well but there are for sure some cuts on there. It reaches my cd player more often then not. But to answer your question I think Acq.. was A quality.

noel always wanted to have b-sides like the smiths, for me all the smiths songs are utterly shit but what i suppose he meant was that he wants his b-sides to be no lesser songs than the a-side itself. there ya go

na its too soft for a proper album with the exeption of a few there all quite laid back tracks.

yeah.. it may be too soft.. but then again.. listen to HC..
I´d take the Masterplan over SOTSOG or HC anyday.. release aquiesce, the masterplan, Listen Up and Rocking Chair as singles and there you have it..
oh and "ev".. you might not be a shakermaker fan, but what the hell does that have to do with the B-SIDES album?
