Magical Mystery Tour, the TV movie that came out shortly after Sgt Pepper, was the first product released by the Beatles that was not met with universal praise.
Obviously Oasis haven't been the critics darlings in a long time (even WTSMG only got a 6/10 on NME) and have never reached the status of the fab four.
But this is more of a personal question...do you remember that moment when you realized that not everything Oasis touched was gold?
For me it was sometime during my first few listens of SOTSOG...I mean, don't get me wrong it is a fine album but there were a few cuts (PYMWYMI, SMC, LJ) that refused to stick-that didn't have that Oasis magical touch.

In '97 when Be Here Now came. I loved D'you Know What I Mean? but the album failed to meet my expectations (which obviously were sky high), and compared to my favourite album of the year, Urban Hymns, it seemed to be far behind. I really like the album now (apart from Magic Pie) but at the time it wasn't what I was hoping for. Human nature isn't it, having too high expectations for the England football team (or Man City), or whatever your favourite band is to do next, they hardly ever live up to it. Again, the new album is bound to blow my mind...
