Awhile back i tried getting oasis played on q 104.3 and 105.5 wdha (nyc and northern nj stations) both programers of the station e mailed me that oasis dont fit their format (which is bollocks) I believe they are blackballed because they never played the kiss ass game in the states. webmaster tried helping out with a petition but the station dont care. however Zak Starkey is a favourite of rock djs i always here them go on about his drumming and I cant help but wonder if he does join the band that maybe the classic rock stations here will wake up and play the band!! since one of their favourite sons is now a member. WHAT YA THINK?

sorry but i'm rather pessimistic with that...noel said oasis is being perceived as past and smth gone..
to me a comeback - like u2 in 2001 or the chili peppers with californication did - can only come along with some fresh kissing of local industries asses there..

i listen to q1043- i did the same as you, and they replied the same. i know zak is well received by ny dj's, but i don't know. the last time i heard an oasis song on the radio was 'acquiesce' 3 years ago on 92.3

I think most moron critics in North America will just use zak to bring back that "beatle ripoffs"-dead horse and beat it some more.

thanks for trying to get 104.3 to wisen up AS I DID NYR4011994 unfortunatly i dont think anything will work they are truly blackballed (IN MY OPINION) i think MAPE may be right the djs will probably say how much they are trying to be like the beatles INSTEAD OF WHAT THEY ARE THE BEST BAND IN THE WORLD FOR 10 YEARS ON THE TROT!

just did it. here's the letter- i'm sending it to as many as i can.
i listen to nothing but q1043. i know you play a lot of newer bands such as red hot chili peppers and stone temple pilots, but why try oasis? they are the epitomy of rock and roll- the sneers, the loud guitars, the songs, their antics and feuds with nearly every breathing thing.
one more reason they should be well received by classic rock: their new drummer is zak starkey, ringo starr's son who also plays with the other greatest live band in the world, the who.
oasis has never gotten the attention they deserve in the us. the last time i heard a song of theirs on the radio was 5 years ago. so please give them justice by starting to play their songs on the radio.
thanks

the last time i heard an oasis song on the radio was 'acquiesce' 3 years ago on 92.3 I can't believe that! 3 years? Holy moo! I mean i didn't expect it to get played regularly and i don't think it does over here in England but bloodyhell....3 years? I think that takes the piss a little. Nice to know you're fighting for the cause though. Good luck

Luckily one radio station here plays Oasis tunes every now and then but mostly Wonderwall, CS, and DLBIA.

just got back a letter from bob buchmann, director of programming/dj at q1043....You'll get no disagreement from me!
Problem is, not enough of our audience likes their tunes. It's the same with Phish or Dave Matthews. All these bands fit the sound but are not liked enough to merit play.
We'll keep searching for newer things that our audience likes!
Many thanks.
Bob
