I'm sure Oasis has made music videos but since they aren't popular in the states anymore they aren't shown on MTV (despite their talent). Anyway, what songs have gotten videos?

From Oasis-Ultimate: Champagne Supernova Film Studios, Ealing, West London Nigel Dick (7:27) recorded on August 3, 1996 This date seems suspect. Oasis were playing at Loch Lomond on that date in Scotland, so I doubt that this was filmed in on this date in 1996. IIRC, this video was released late in 1995/early 1996 (winter) here in the US. Edit: I should add that I doubt this was filmed in August 1995 either, as the cover for Wonderwall was shot on August 1, 1995 and the outtakes include a clean-shaven Liam. So, unless Liam had superhuman powers to grow a full beard in 2 days, I think that this was more likely recorded toward the end of 1995/early 1996, as Liam has the beard at the Brit Awards in February, 1996. He also obviously does not have a beard at the summer concerts in August 1996, so I think that date is definitely suspect.

Yeah........especially since it was a pretty big radio and MTV hit in very early 1996. Can’t be on MTV if you don’t got a video!!!!!!

Yeah........especially since it was a pretty big radio and MTV hit in very early 1996. Can’t be on MTV if you don’t got a video!!!!!! My best guess is that it was filmed early in 1996. They were in the UK for 4 tour dates in early October before going to the US. Guigsy hadn't quit yet at that point, so that's a possibility. However, I don't believe Liam has a beard at that point, nor did he have it when they played Earls Court. They were booked solid through December 19, 1995, with most of December being in the US. They then had a gap between December 19 and January 10 1996, when they started touring again, so its possible it was done around Christmas 1995. They came back to the US after the BRIT awards in February 19, 1996 and Liam clearly has the beard still during the awards show. So the most likely time this was recorded was early February 1996 during their 1 month gap in touring. I would also bet that they filmed the video for Don't Look Back In Anger some time around December 18-20 in Bel Air, CA, as they played two shows in LA/West Hollywood on December 18 and 19 respectively and those shows were the end of that leg of the tour (though Liam has no beard in that video). Oddly enough, this would mean that they were filming the video for Champange Supernover just as they were about to release Don't Look Back In Anger. My memory is that we didn't get DLBIA here in the states until Spring 1996 even though the UK release date was February 19, 1996.

Lennon2217 and anyone else who cares about this type of stuff: I decided to take a shot an e-mail Nigel Dick, who directed most of the WTSMG? videos to see if he had information on the filming locations and date and to my surprise, he responded with the information. Without further adieu, here is the information that we seek: - Rock 'n' Roll Star - Filmed on April 16, 1995 at the pier in Southend, UK/April 17, 1995 bits that are from Live By The Sea (directed by Nigel Dick)
- Wonderwall - Filmed September 30, 1995 at Unit 217B in Woolwich, London, UK (directed by Nigel Dick)
- Don't Look Back In Anger - Filmed on December 4, 1995 at 1145 Arden Road in Pasadena, CA, USA (directed by Nigel Dick)
- Champagne Supernova - Filmed on February 16/17, 1996 at Ealing Studios, London, UK (directed by Nigel Dick)
- Don't Go Away - Filmed on August 11/12, 1997 in Chertsey and London, UK (directed by Nigel Dick)
He has all of this information on his website: www.nigeldick.com/films/.

Thanks to the help of guigsysEstring, we have tracked down a few more details about some of the early music videos: * Supersonic (UK) - filmed on top of what is now the self-storage building between Crestfield and Belgrove Streets in Kings Cross on January 24 1994 (source: kingscrossenvironment.com/2014/01/24/oasis-in-kings-cross-supersonic-20-years-on/)* Some Might Say - aborted video session supposed to have taken place on March 29-30, 1995 in Chatley Heath, Surrey (source: Getting High: The Adventures of Oasis, pages 306-307). * Roll With It - filmed July 26, 1995 in a studio in Kings Cross, London. Fans won tickets to the shoot via a phone contest. Oasis played a full gig after filming finished. (source: Getting High: The Adventures of Oasis, page 329) I have some feelers out for some more, so hopefully more details to come. As always, I am adding these to my pet project www.oasis-timeline.com as they are found and verified with sources. Any additional leads are always welcome.

From Oasis-Ultimate: Live Forever (UK) Portland Place, London Nick Egan (4:38 in black & white) -- I think I may have found the date for another one. The October 1997 issue of Q Magazine has a lengthy interview with Jill Furmanovsky where she talks about how she got started taking pictures of Oasis. The article has a picture from the Live Forever video shoot at Portland Place in London with the date "January 5, 1995". Yyou can still see the picture on her website. That date seems to be accurate as Oasis had a break between the end of 1994 and when they left for a US tour that started on January 22nd. I vaguely remember the video showing up on MTV during the winter of 1994/1995 (must have been 1995!) and it would go to reason that they would have dropped it to coincide with the US tour. That date also aligns with Furmanovsky's timeline with the band. She took her first photos of the band at the Cambridge Corn Exchange gig on December 4, 1994. She says that after Ignition saw her shots from the gig, they booked her to travel with the band to the US for the aforementioned tour.

Narrowing in on another one: Shakermaker. I've narrowed down the date to some time in the second half of May, 1994. Oasis had a break in touring from May 15th until June 1. On May 30th, they attended the photo shoot for the Definitely Maybe album cover and artwork at Bonehead's house in Didsbury (8 Stratford Ave to be exact). They also used his back garden for the shots of the band playing in the Shakermaker video, in addition to Fog Lane Park, Sifter's records and I think even shots from in front of Liam and Noel's house on Cranwell Drive in Burnage. The grass and flowers visible in the video also point to this timeline and not earlier in the spring (their previous break in touring was from April 14th to the 28th). My best guess is that the filming date is closer to May 15th than May 30th, as the video was released on June 13th. I would imagine that the director (Mark Szaszy) would have needed more than a week or two to edit and get it ready for release. If anyone has any additional information/details on this, it would be greatly appreciated.

Found another one: Sunday Morning Call was filmed on April 2, 2000 in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada (we already knew the location, just not the date). In the MTV episode of "Making the Video", you can see the 4-2 date (month first in Canada) on the clapboard. The date makes sense, as the band started the US leg of the SOTSOG tour in Seattle, WA on April 5th.

Yes I think you are right. During the video Noel is sat on some steps busking, these steps of City Gate House, Lackington Street, London. They can be seen in Google street view. Perhaps it should be added to the Oasis tour of places to visit!

Found another one: the UK version of the Supersonic music video was filmed on March 13, 1994. I happened to be watching a clip from Supersonic and there is a shot of the clap board that shows the date as 13.3.94 (pause at 35 seconds to see it):
This would have been during the gap between the performance for Sony executives at Gleneages (March 9) and their appearance on The Word (March 18).

Nailed down another one. The Acquiesce promotional video for Stop the Clocks was filmed at The Electric Ballroom in London on September 12, 2006 -- at least the interior bits were filmed there. There are a few shots of the cover band walking around Japan that will filmed in Japan on another date. William Lee Adams ( who was an extra in the video) helped to confirm the dates.
