Drummed Out
Oasis are proving yet again that they're a real rock band by keeping up the great tradition of rock bands since rock began: changing drummers every few years. First they dumped Tony McCarroll, apparently because he had a perm. Now Alan White is quitting too.
Unusually for Oasis there are no reports of punch ups, fights and shouting matches accompanying the announcement. Alan's just knackered his hands and he needs to give his wrists a rest. And before you all start nudging each other and winking, he's hurt his wrists by holding his drum sticks wrong, alright!?
Alan had to step away from the drums and take a break during the band's last tour because of injury. His brother Steve briefly took over the beat duties, but whether he'll replace Alan full time remains to be seen.

Gutted about that, Alan's a quality drummer and seems like a top bloke aswell. His departure will be a big loss to the band, especially seeing as they're supposed to be in the studio next week

well, that's stupid- to leave the band just because he injured his fuckin hands.. :-[I mean, he could make a short brake, and they could record with some other drummer, and then, when his hands are ok again, he could join the band for touring or something..alan is coolest drummer ever, so he must stay.. by the way, is it sure, that he's leaving for ever?

yeah hope it doesnt disrupt the new album. i'm guessing that noel works out most of the drum parts for oasis songs anyway, but losing their drummer will still have an impact.
in fact, i wouldnt be surprised if noel does all the drumming on the album, and then they can take time to find a replacement for a tour
i think its pretty much confirmed that he has left for good. if he does have an injury then you can't blame him for leaving

hope he his hands get better so he can return. it doesn't sound good at all though. but i'll still wait to hear more about this story.
at least he's not leaving on bad terms with other band members... i think. hmmm i wonder what would happen if he decided he's better 2-3 years down the line and wants to come back.

People move on... He's seen the best years of Oasis, seen the world probably about a trillion times. What is he now? 30? Even if he didn't have the injury he may well have still left. He's been doing 8 years or so for fucks sake I dont know where this is going....

Manchester Online :
OASIS drummer Alan White has quit the band, according to newspaper reports.
The Daily Star Sunday newspaper said the drummer has been unable to shake off a tendonitis problem and has therefore decided to leave the group.
However, there has been no official confirmation of the story from the band's management yet.
White would not be the first person to leave Oasis - he initially replaced Tony McCarroll who was sacked following the band's debut album Definitely Maybe.
Then in August 1999 bassist Paul 'Guigsy' McGuigan and guitarist Paul 'Bonehead' Arthurs both left, leaving brothers Liam and Noel Gallagher as the only original members left in the line-up.

Has Illness Forced Oasis Drummer To Quit?
Tabloid reports over the weekend are claiming that Oasis drummer Alan White has quit the band due to health reasons, although as yet there is no official statement as to whether these stories are true.
Yesterday’ edition of the The Star newspaper (January 11) claims that White will be leaving Oasis due to ongoing problems with tendonitis.
Tendonitis (it says here) is an inflammatory condition where the tendons in the limbs become inflamed causing pain at the joints and is often suffered by drummers, bassist, tennis players and people who over use their wrists a great deal. However, at the time of writing there is no official statement from the band’s representatives either denying nor confirming the story.
White missed a handful of live dates during Oasis’ last major tour, and was replaced by his elder brother Steve White, who normally plays with Paul Weller, and speculation has already started that White Snr will be moving onto the drumstool.
White is the band’s second drummer having replaced original sticksman Tony McCarroll who was sacked from the band in 1995 (in 1999 he took his ex-bandmates to court and claimed a £550,00 pay off for his work on the songs which eventually ended up on the million selling ‘(What's The Story) Morning Glory’ album.)
Oasis are currently recording the follow up to 2002’s ‘Heathen Chemistry’ with Death In Vegas production team Richard Fearless and Tim Holmes.

all these reports though are just based on just one report. There might be a slight problem which theyve dressed up to make a big one. The question is really, do you trust the star? .........
