It is interesting to see the decline in the latest songs compared to their hayday. (solidifies that fact that the music industry has changed so much)
Lets hope that whatever they come out with next year, can hit the stats of their earlier stuff.

Here i am, the eternal pessimist, but i think the industry has been permanently f***ed over by the increase in manufactured pop and groups like westlife, who's songs are all same-ish and boring but always hit the top because little girls buy anything they churn out. But i think most people who like Oasis are a lot older, and a lot of these people (not true fans obviously) are old enough to work a computer and just download off the internet instead of buying the record. Hence dragging back up the good old 'it's wrong to download music off the net' debate. I admit i download oasis boots (obviously) and a few other artists, but i have never downloaded anything oasis that could be bought officially. Come on everyone, lets get them back up there where they belong

Go let it out, HT, and scyho sold a lot more than i thought. I think singles are gaining in popularity in north america cause its only been since last year that they have become widelt available at decent prices.
HC was really hurt bad by the fact that it was leaked weeks before it hit the stores. Yeah hopefully the next album will sell bucket loads again. They have huge fan base and that's what mostly carried the past few albums. They need to get new listeners on the boat.

hopefully, the new album will be a change from the usual oasis albums because Death In Vegas are producing it.
I for one am, looking forward to a slight change of emphasis from the boys, and hopefully it may appeal to a wider range of listeners, not just the Oasis faithful.

Whatever songs 10-15 year old girls/boys buy shouldn't be included in the charts because they always buy shit. That way Simon Cowell and all the rest of them will realise that someone with half a brain wont buy shitty cover versions anymore and will be kicked out of the music industry and probably die. Cuz I hate him and i hate Pop Idol.
And Hang on. Wonderwall. How can a single that sold close to 1 million not get to no.1. What the f**k bet that!?!?

maybe the wonderwall sales figure is total sales. I wonder how Stand By Me did...it was only kept off #1 by elton john's candle in the wind and that was massive.

the sales figures are intersting for the newer singles, but singles will be obsolete in about 2 years if not less IMO, andwith bands like oasis, its the non "huge" fans that buy the s=ingles, everyone else goes out and buys the whole album, which as you know is far far better value especially in the UK

Yeah I think if all you do is download the music without buying the albums than your an idiot. If you like oasis buy the albums. Once you have done that than who cares how much shit you download.
