excerpt from NYTIMES article on Coachella Rock Festival:
Judging by many of the other bands at the festival, music in the last year has somehow inverted itself. On the radio, rappers and R&B stars are insisting that they are just regular people: J-Lo is Jenny from the block, Justin Timberlake is a kid from the 'hood, and they've all still got love for the streets. But on the stage underground rockers, now fully recovered from the self-effacing approach of the alternative rock days, are demanding to be treated like stars. In other words Oasis (which performed at the festival last year) no longer has a monopoly on rampant egotism: arrogance is the new humility. ;D
