The verses are absolutely ace, but I think the chorus lets it down. Don't like it when Noel gets too shouty. This^. Carry Us All, Full On and Put Yer Money Where Yer Mouth Is don't sound like they are finished. That those songs were not properly completed for the album surprised me at the time and puzzled me afterwards for a while. Oasis were under no record company pressure regarding deadlines due to the closure of Creation Records and the transfer of recordings to their own label, albeit still contracted to Sony Music, but with a lapse in deadlines and promotion targets due to the record company upheaval at the time. In an alternative scenario when the Chateau de la Colle Noire sessions ended abruptly with Bonehead then Guigsy departing the band should have reconvened at Wheeler End to not only finish the recordings laid down in France, but also flesh out and record those songs that were clearly not finished. Three months or so would be a reasonable time for such a project, which would also have given ample opportunity to hire replacement band members, as well as completing the best possible album they could for that period. They could also still have made the release of the lead single and album in early 2000 with this time frame. An MTV interview with Noel in 2000 sheds a bit of light as to where his and the band's heads were at that time though- MTV 2000 In it he states in reference to Liam's insistence that Little James sound like The Beatles that "I wouldn't have anybody interfere with one of my songs. If anybody was giving me advice on how one of my songs should sound, I wouldn't take it. Not in the slightest. Liam's the same because he's a Gallagher, you know. We just don't tend to listen to advice. We're good at giving it, but we're just not very good at listening to it." That says to me that even if anyone in management or production had tried at that point to get a better record out of the band it probably wouldn't have worked as they had gone into almost a siege mentality, and were going purely on their own decisions without outside opinion. Interestingly Noel also stated in the same interview that he felt SOTSOG was the second Oasis album as he didn't like WTSMG? and BHN only had three good songs on it (three more than he publicly rates these days though)- Apparently pharmaceutical drugs CAN be as damaging as controlled substances going on that evidence

Especially how he sings it after the solo. Out of those three Carry Us All is the most finished imo, especially lyrically. Full On and PYMWYMI have the same verse repeated twice! I think Noel admitted his laziness in regards to PYMWYMI.

It's not really 'Not Talked About' as it was a single, but I love Who Feels Love at the moment

At the moment, I'm in a "Boy with The Blues" mood. I actually believe it's Liam finest song along Songbird and Evil Eye.

i love fade away (warchild version) it's got Liam on backing vocals, which i find interesting. Liam hardly sang backing vocals on a Noel sung track.

I still can't believe how underrated Talk Tonight is on here. It's one of Noel's finest, ever, hands down.
He probably hasn't written a song as good than that one since ... 1998.

I think that I Can See a Liar is one of their worst Songsš I actually don't mind it. It's the least of our worries from PWMWYMI and LJ. ICSAL has that Step Out vibe, although not nearly as good.

Cloudburst is one of my favorite tunes, I love the drums on that one and Liam's voice with Noel's guitar bits is incredible, the live version is just as good.

To Be Where There's Life. I know The Escapist posted about his love for that song over on the Unpopular Oasis Opinions, but it doesn't really get talked about much and it's a shame since it's one of the most experimental songs they ever did.

For me it's gotta be 'Boy With The Blues'
Should have ended 'Dig Out Your Soul' with this one.

Who put the weight of the world is certainly a song that no one talks about. Carry us all is also great. Underneath the sky is the only Oasis song that makes me want to dance. You might already know Idler's dream, Stay young, and Let's all make believe.

IĀ“ve always love Flashbax. Is a very nice song that no one seems to remember. Full On is another one. Great dark song, very different to the classic OasisĀ“s sound.
And all of the NoelĀ“s demos for SOTSOG... They are all great.
Someone mentioned I Hope, I Think, I Know as the worst Oasis song... Well, is not. Especially after listening The Meaning of Soul, Ain't Got Nothing, Hey Now, ItĀ“s Better People... Those are horrible. I Hope I Think I Know is a very good song. ItĀ“s a shame that they never played it live.

Sure they're not Noel's best songs ever but they don't deserve to be linked with TMOS and AGN. I LOVE the last minute of It's Better People, with these little arpeggios and those strings in the back of the mix. So good. There is that mix between joyce and melancholy that made me fell in love with that band.

I Can See a Liar, Roll it Over, My Big Mouth are some of them. But ItĀ“s Better People seems to get worse with years (to my ears at least) and is because Noel keep writing so many good songs until today. By far, for me, ItĀ“s Better People is his worst song.
