Is it just me or are Oasis currently selling their album and singles purely to their dedicated fans, picking up few new ones amongst the youth of today. All of my mates generally think they've lost it and ,as one of them once put it "just aint cool any more". Are Oasis still popular with under 20 year olds?

I can only talk for the trend going on in the states. Kids do not know Oasis unless they seek out the whole Brit Rock and Indie scene. Hard to find teens into Oasis. On the other hand this forum is made up mostly of ppl under 2o years of age , but it's very international and they have been fans for a while......welcome to our forum !

Hi Im new to the forum
Im Dave im from a town called Bicester in Oxfordshire.
I am 16 years old and i think Oasis are amazing but I seem to be the only person in my year at school who think that, everyones either into heavy rock or Garage. But you put something like Wonderwall on and they all sing along
I think that Oasis are just as good now as they ever were and Stop Crying Your Heart Out is their best ever song.

I think ppl i know (who listen to music) basically know who Oasis are and can recognize their hits. i think they're still respected by the general public and mostly by the 18-30 age group (in North America).
In north america the music industry has taken the rap, and new-metal direction and that's what most kids these days listen to if not main-stream pop.
I think Oasis just need that one big hit again to jump back into the main spotlight but I don't think they want to be huge again

nice to see new guys posting i don't think oasis are anywhere near as popular with kids as they used to be - in my day ;D when i was 15/16 most of my mates were into oasis and indie music. but i think oasis are'nt cool anymore, new bands have come through and stole the limelight. but a lot of kids still listen to them - just not as many as used to. some kids always find good music - the charts maybe full of rubbish but the good stuff usually comes through. the truly classic bands will always be popular. i reckon 15/16 year olds will still be buying definitely maybe in 10 years time. i hope so i think the dedicated oasis fan base does count for 90% of their record sales though

yes and coz of the fact that every1s taste in music has changed they don't really listen to all the other types. And it's also really stupid coz half of the ppl I talk to only know who Liam is coz I have a pic of him in my pencil case!

Nah, Im 17 and from Dublin. Oasis played 2 gigs here last week, and about 40 of my mates/people I know aged 17-20 went to the gig. I cant speak for younger people but theyre well in with my age group round here. Then again weve always loved Oasis as a country so...

here in the states people aren't all about that music anymore. most people say "i didn't even know they had anything else (beyond what's the story)." i visited florida and was surprised some dude even knew "live forever." my brother and i are huge fans and have gotten a bunch of people to like them. but i agree with the fans only buying their albums.
but... just tonight some dude came into my dorm room asking what song i was singing that goes like "... i don't really wanna know..."
we'll see how it goes
