Oasis are free agents after their last album 'Heathen Chemistry' completed their contractual commitments to their record label. The completion of their commitments mean the band is now free to shop around for a new deal . Do you think Oasis should shop around or follow in the footsteps of other Indie giants such as Dave Mathews

Whats the bands current deal like? Are they with Sony or Big Brother? Some of their records have an RKID serial number - which labels that? If i were them i`d find a label who`d pay shitloads, but would also put some effort and committment into the band. Also, is it true that a certain percentage of singles released have to be written by Noel? I`d find that a bit hard to believe considering no other members of the band had wrote any songs before the deal was signed. Anyone know the truth?

it was SONY/EPIC in the states for HC. But with its' release the bands' contract is now over. Oasis are already producing the whole package by themselves so I guess going Indie is the next logic step. It's not like SONY/EPIC went out of their way to promote them in the States. I think College Radio is pro Indie, it would do them good to catch that crowd with their next release... I can't talk for the UK and rest of Europe but maybe someone can shed some light on how Oasis is promoted over in your part of the world
