I have loads of Oasis stuff on video that I want to edit and burn on to DVD.
I've got a DVD recorder so I've put most of it on DVD now.
I've been told Mac The Ripper is the best software to use to rip it on to my Mac for editing but it looks pretty complicated.
Has anyone used this who could give me a few pointers?
Cheers in advance.

Hi mate, Yeah, I want to be able to rip the vob files and edit them with Avid ideally. Then burn the resulting footage back to DVD. I managed to rip the vob files using Mac The Ripper last night but not sure what to do with them now so that I can edit them. I downloaded something called Streamclip - www.squared5.com/ - which says it can convert them into Mpeg but I had to purchase an Mpeg-2 add-on for my Quicktime or something first. Basically I just want to rip my footage from my DVDs, edit it on Avid, then rip it back to DVD.

think with that you can export as quicktime or avi without the mpeg2 purchase..... they are much better quality formats too. DVD files are already compressed and you ideally want to not compress the files anymore because you may lose the quality..... think avi is the format that avid uses - am i right?
hope thats a help

Cheers mate, I looked into the AVI file thing and apparently Avid doesn't like them too much so I think I'm going to use Streamclip to convert the vobs to DV and see how that goes.
