after a few years I went back to a MAC.. we'll see how it goes.. got an IMac last nite and I am still orienting myself to it.. no more flailing around with wires and 20 chords.. etc. As you know everything is built into the flat screen.. I like streamline... hopefully DLing all that vicious stuff will not be an issue anymore.... it was wreaking havoc on my old computer.. any other MAC users on here ? just worndering ??

having a Mac is like having a super-efficient car but it won't run on 90% of the roads!

You shouldn't have as much trouble with virus' etc on a mac because its not as popular as Windows which means all the virus makers & hackers will be creating havoc on that OS. But still get a virus checker etc...

i might be getting a mac soon - they are much better at video editing than PC/Windows based machines.... I have to admit that they're good with editing... Though editing room I always want to take that fucking one button mouse and smash it right in the fucking screen... I also hate that tiny little keyboard... Software is a pain to find compare pc....

the small keyboards and mouse are a pain and , ive found that there are so many fans and also airconditioning, that the room for editing is bloody freezing!!! ;D , still, the home PC gets so warm that me feet stay nice and toastie.

But still get a virus checker etc... exactly... i was DLing vicious stuff on regular basis.. even with massive firewall etc.. it was getting on my nerves... there are some little quirks with java script but nothing major..

i'm debating the same thing too
i've had my Dell Inspiron 4100 laptop for 4 years now!!! and its about to die!! the screen is half broken off, 5GBs remaining, kind of slow, had 1 major virus 2 years ago etc etc
I'm going to university next year, and thus i will be getting a new laptop (thank god, only another 8months of this dying piece of crap)
I was thinking about trying a mac, but i now i think i should stay with windows. I've used windows all my life and i know how to use it, i know what to do if i have a problem etc...
i really dont feel like trying to get used to another OS...esp in college when im scrued if my computer dies in the middle of a major paper and i dont know how to fix it....
so yeh..windows it is
