1. When going to www.hotmail.com I sometimes get this screen pop up saying something about security stuff, etc etc etc and asks me if I want to ignore etc..but this only happens on firefox and not on IE where it just signs me in automatically.. 2. This is strange, and got me thinking whether I have one of those viruses that sends emails to people. Today I got an email from this mail marshal saying this: I haven't even sent an email to that address, so wtf?

I use Mcafee and it updates every couple of days, and I haven't been on any dodgey sites or anything.. Maybe I should use that microsoft checker thingamabob.

maybe you should install AVG, it's better than macafee. And I would recommend Ad-Aware. both free software
anyway, it seems more like a spyware issue. it happens a lot when you use your own e-mail address in yousendit for instance

Haven't done that though
But I just did a check on microsoft antispyware and it detected 2, one was quaratined and 1 was a browser modifier which was apparently severe lol, but thats gone. Will try that ad-aware aswell.

ad-aware scans the computer for spyware and that kinda stuff. it also checks the registry. once you do a full system scan it shows you the list of objects found, you select them and it puts them in quarentine (spelling?) www.lavasoft.com (search for the personal edition, it's free)
