i got it running now. the setup is definetly alot easier than other versions of windows, all you do is put in the product key and what drive you want it loaded onto then it just installs, instead of asking you every five minutes for some setting. now it is a beta program, so i understand that its not gonna be as robust and reliable as xp. the new graphics system is pretty good and does a good job of scaling to your system. I have a ati radeon card, and the drivers supplied by ati wouldnt work, so i had to use the integrated video on my motherboard. the start menu is better. and you now have a my games folder along with the my music and pictures. theres now the much improved search function. however, i didnt find my file i was looking for. internet explorer is much much better and has all kinds of cool graphics and animations in it, it also provides support for rss and xml feeds. the problems with it are that it feels like an update to windows xp, when its supposed to be a completely new os (many of the same graphics and programs from xp are still here). also very few programs will run on it. i uninstalled it cause i need to use programs (itunes, tv tuner, games) which wouldnt run on vista.
its an interesting new windows, but not the complete overhaul and revolution that i expected. looks like i may have to move to a mac
