itll convet stuff to varying sizes, you can even compress movies to fit on your phone!! i can fit like 2 movies on me phone with it its class (although my phone does acccept minisd card like) ;D

If you're making a copy of a DVD to a blank DVD just use DVD shrink and in options you can set how far you want to shrink it.

If you want make it on CDR , then you need use Dr. Divx to reformat it to avi file, because you can't compressed something that is like 8gb/ 11gb to 700mb. Most the time what happens it won't work or stops working in middle of the movie.

Just my personal experience
