allright, ill introduce myself.
Im a 22 year old guy from Holland. I come from the south of holland (oss). My parents still live there and so am i most of the weekends. I study in amsterdam and i live there to during the week. Im all into playing my guitar for about 3 years now. Never had a single lesson though. Originally a lefty, but I play right-handed. Have 2 epis. 1 is a ej-200 (jumbo), the other a les paul standard. Im incredibly good-looking. fav bands: oasis, phonics, bandits, jam, beatles, led zep, queen (early days), guns n roses (yeah i know, but listen to slash) and loads of others, probably the same kind as you lot like.
I got into this forum because im on this internship right now, and im behnd my desk all day now, so i need something to do... No girlfriend, but incredibly in love. But she had to move for a year to the states, Richmond. I love a drink, love a cig, love drugs indeed, but i think im gonna quit with that within a few months i think (hope). I think i start a band within a year too. I got millions of melodies in my head and on paper and loads of lyrics so thatll work out. Dont know if i have the guts to show m to others, but we'll see...
any questions?

who ever said i was squire, slash or clapton? that's the biggest insult anybody's ever given me. john squire > Stevie ray vaughan John Squire is the best guitarist since jimmy page, i dont give a fuck what anyone says. Pisses on vaughan, looks twice as cool and writes better tunes. you cant have heard second coming, buy it and you will agree.

well put iggy
and columbia, you obviously haven't heard or seen stevie live at the montreaux jazz festivals 1982 and 1985. in 1982, he was so incredible that david bowie, who saw him there, was so impressed that he got stevie to play guitar for his 1983 album (and very unimpressive, imo- it's no hunky dory) let's dance. the only reason why he was booed in '82 was because people who go to montreaux go to see jazz, not blues. but in '85, stevie was unbelievable, his concert was sold out, and the band was just feeding off of the crowd's energy, and vice versa. go get the cd or dvd (preferably the dvd, you gotta see it to believe it), and you'll switch from the roses to stevie ray vaughan in a second.

Actually people flock to the Montreux Jazz festival to see all genres of music. The different "genre" nights are all soldout. I saw Nina Hagen, Mike Oldfield and a lot of blues legends there, won't tell you what year cuz then you could figure out how old I am

When stevie ray vaughn can write the first stone roses album come back. Its alright being able to play really well but you need to be able to write great songs aswell. Being a great guitarist is more then just about being able to play really fast solo's. I like the stone roses so much eggy because they're fuckin fantastic. I love the way their songs build up and get bigger. I love their lyrics, their style, i love their basslines, guitar riffs, ian browns great stage presence and reni's funky drumming. I never used to like them as much as i do now but i found that the more i listened to them the more i loved them and they are without a doubt my favourite band ever now. check this out for great squire playing... www.angelfire.com/music6/oasis1234/Daybreak_and_Breaking_into_Heaven.mp3p.s ignore ian browns singing

Being a great guitarist is more then just about being able to play really fast solo's. if i wanted to hear fast technical shit, i'd listen to yngwie malmsteen, but i'd kill myself first. no doubt the roses were a great band, they had great songs, they were a very underrated band, but stevie ray vaughan was a legend. he did hendrix better than hendrix- refer to little wing and live versions of voodoo chile (forget the album version) and ian brown sucks- he reminds me of the osbournes. sharon!!!!
