"I've got a copy of the album in front of me...And I've listened to it, sorry. But what I can tell you about it is...it IS a return to form. Ah, Favorite tracks from there for me, you might well disagree when you get to hear the album.- Mucky Fingers, thats great. That's got to be a single sometime in the future. Ah, track one's pretty good as well, Turn up the sun. But Mucky Fingers, really really like. The Importance of Being Idle, like that. Ah- Part of the queue, Really really like that one. And also Let there be Love, which is the final track on there...which is kind of...a more senisitive side i guess. Guess God thinks I'm able as well as good."

On the review that was found on the Soapbox it said that there were hardly any solos-- Disappointing.

I am fond of the 'no solos' idea however... so am hoping this is true. I thought it fantastic when Liam used to make wanking motions when Noel was over-soloing in 96-97 on tour... ;D From the sounds of Lyla and the little bits and pieces of reviews from here & there this LP sounds to be a bit different than the norm, not perhaps a "return to form" but a slight new direction again. I do not think we will ever get another album like the first two, those days are done and gone. HC did better than SOSOG and hopefully this new record will do better than HC, but to expect sales like the first three records is inviting disapointment.
Lyla is grower track, the more I listen the more I hear and the more I hear the more I enjoy it's subtle sound tweaks and marching band rhythm.

marching band rythms?
oomph pa-pa. oomph pa-pa.
so, does a return to form mean everything after morning glory was shite?
i loved the last album.
