for a couple of weeks now many of us have been speculating over the inconsistency of what noel has said compared to what has been reported; particularly, the case that noel has said 12 tracks will be on the album yet only 11 titles have been published...
in continuation, the article set to be in Q magazine next month complete with noel's comments on each song still states that ' Don't Believe the Truth' is a 12 song Lp, yet they only mention 11 of them.
Any theories or anti-theories on this?

Yeah...but usually if Noel's got a song he's chuffed with he's the first to start shouting about it if ya know what I mean.

Have you heard the hidden track on Ash's '1977' ? no. i'm sure it's a good song but that is not the point. i don't like hidden tracks full stop. i don't see the point in them.

I think it will either be a hidden track or maybe a NEW INTRO SONG, i don't know if anyone has mentioned that theory. that's my guess as to why no paper has it as a track, because it's not an actual singing song!

i think there are two versions of the interview with noel where he does a track by track on DBTT, coz the one that someone posted i think from the Daily Star was exactly the same as the xfm one except it also had stop the clocks in and he said they still werent sure if itd be on the album

12th song is Stop the Clocks stop the clocks could as well be just a working title - yeah bands often do this - and that song might just have any of those names listed...

stop the clocks could as well be just a working title - yeah bands often do this - and that song might just have any of those names listed... It's not cos it was named and mentioned along with the other tracks. Look, here's the score. Stop The Clocks was going to be on the album, track 7 in between The Meaning Of Soul and Part Of The Queue. This would have made the album 12 tracks and is why Noel was saying that the album had 12 tracks on it in interviews done a couple of months ago. Then in an intervew, he said that there was a song too many on it for his liking. Then we have this interview, done for Q and quoted by the Daily Star and XFM, where he mentions that Stop The Clocks might not be on the album and is still being discussed. Then you have the tracklisting officially announced with 11 tracks and no Stop The Clocks. So obviously the decision was made to take it off the album. Where it'll end up is something only the band and Sony know at the moment. Personally, I wouldn't be at all surprised to see it as a b-side on the Lyla single. It won't be a hidden track cos what's the point in taking it off track 7 and making it hidden? Absolutely none.

track 99 on the stone roses second coming is the best hidden track ever. i beg to differ The Clash - Train in Vain found on London Calling I think? hidden track... arguably one of the clash's best songs lets hope stop the clocks is like that for oasis if it does turn out to be a hidden track
