Apparently Oasis sounds like early Bee Gees. I have never heard any early Bee Gees. It is mentioned though on the Definitely Maybe dvd that Noel had a copy of early Bee Gees during the recording of the album.

For years my wife has been saying at the beginning of Stop Crying Your Heart Out she wants to sing "Good Morning Mister Sunshine" from that very old Bee Gees tune.

Now I don' t have anything from them during that 60s era so, I just slagged it off until one of them mentioned picking up old Bee Gees cassettes in American truck stops on the DVD and I went, well there ya go.

There's an acoustic guitar part on Jet's album that if not exactly a direct lift is completely modelled on Wish you were here. You almost want to go "So, so you think you can tell..."

Anyway, that's why I like them both, spot the influence you know.

i love jet. i think their music is great. there's only one downside: apart from 'look what you've done', every song sounds the same. don't get me wrong, 'rollover dj' is a TOP, TOP song, but i can't hear the difference between that and, say, 'are you gonna be my girl'.

but they ROCK
