Oasis have been regained their crown as the pre-eminent rock band in Britain after they sold an estimated 250,000 tickets this morning for live shows next summer.
The band have now added a third date at the City Of Manchester Stadium after shows on July 2 and 3 sold out by 11.30am. They will now also play their hometown on June 30.
A spokesperson for the band reported these shows to be amongst the fastest selling ever in the band’s history. "It’s been an incredible morning," she said. "Oasis currency remains sky-high.
The band have also sold out two shows at Milton Keynes Bowl (July 9, 10) and Glasgow’s Hampden Park (June 29). Massive queues have been reported in Glasgow where fans had an opportunity to pick up tickets the old fashioned way rather than online or by phone.
It is unclear if further dates will be added.

really? i thought more for some reason, how much does it hold for a normal football match? how many did maine road hold when oasis last played? yeah! i thought it had a bigger capacity too

yeh but you gotta think of the stage, one end would be cut off and that takes capacity down. on a normal match day, it holds 48,000 people. so that's 12,000 people in a stand, so minus 12,000 cos of the stage, and plus 10,000 cos of the pitch, and you get to around 45,000. (though maths was never my strongest subject lol.)

the city of manchester stadium is estimated to be able to hold 60 000 ppl for a gig. I think they get more on the pitch then you would think. I read that on nme i think, maybe somewhere else.

You will probably find that the best band in the country is Mcfly, the way they drift in and out of their ballards is second to none! I cant see oasis ever doing anything this good........O I have found one similarity between these two bands. All their tunes sound the same!! BRING ON THE VINES!!! ;D
