ROCK superstars Oasis will play three major British stadium shows next summer - including one at the home of their beloved Manchester City Football Club.
The band, fronted by life-long City fans Noel and Liam Gallagher, will be making up for not being able to play a farewell gig when their team's Maine Road ground was closed.
The Burnage-born brothers made sure they included the City of Manchester Stadium in the list of concert dates in June and July next year.
The Manchester concert will take place on July 2 and the band will also visit Glasgow's Hampden Park on June 29, and the National Bowl at Milton Keynes, on July 9.
Album
Oasis have announced that they intend to release a studio album and singles next year when each of their concerts will feature a host of guests.
Tickets, priced £32.50 plus booking fees, go on sale on Saturday at 9am. There is a maximum of six tickets per applicant.
Oasis, who once sold out two 19,000-capacity concerts at Earls Court within minutes, won three awards in 1996, and then played two homecoming gigs at Maine Road, and later Knebworth, where they entertained 250,000 fans in two days.
In 2002, more than 100,000 fans converged on the Lancashire County Cricket Club ground for two Oasis concerts.
The audience at both concerts was packed with celebrities, including footballers David Beckham, Gary Neville, and Roy Keane, plus actors Robert Carlyle, Ralf Little, and Lisa Faulkner.
