Hey there,
At Glastonbury Oasis played two new songs :
- A Bell Will Ring - Meaning Of Soul
After the kind of negative reaction bout the new songs by the crowd, Noel now like to work on the new songs on the long expected album which still has to be released. But, how do you think 'bout the two new songs ?

But, how do you think 'bout the two new songs ? Meaning of soul is my new favourite oasis song. But that changes every week anyway. I'm not a big fan of a beel will ring tho

Yeah, Meaning of Soul sounded like something new, Better Man by Primal Scream or something, really looking forward to hear more new songs, especially by Liam!

well, i think they both are pretty lovely. if you imagine the studio recording just right, they are gorgeous. as my friend says, "Oasis: the band that forces you to use your imagination to fully achieve the potential of the music." (or something close...)
cheers to liam and gem and noel (for letting others write.) i just really hope andy writes a lot of songs sometime soon. there are like 15 to 23 ride and hurricane #1 songs that would sound fantastic if they were recorded by oasis (although they all sound pretty damn good as they are.)
here, i will make a quick list of ride/hurricane songs that would 've been super if recorded by oasis (and i'm leaving out most of the early ride ones so as to avoid angering hardcore ride fans who insist that these classic works shouldn't be fucked with even in the imagination):
ride (andy wrote most of these but maybe not all of them): -drive blind -only now (although that would make like 15 times oasis has used "hurricane" as a lyric) -how does it feel to feel (granted, andy didnt write this song (it was by The Creation,) but it'd sound great) -endless road -slave -a trip down ronnie lane -let's get lost -black nite crash (which, incidentally, really invokes 'meaning of soul') -sunshine/nowhere to run -burnin'
and many could be given a songbirdy treatment: -i don't know where it comes from -1000 miles -crown of creation -starlight motel
hurricane (andy wrote all of these, 'cept where noted): -faces in a dream -step into my world -chain reaction -smoke rings -the greatest high -remote control -only the strongest will survive -what do i know (written by alex lowe, admittedly) -afterhours
...and my final word will be: what i miss about the oasis of old is the actual quantity of songs they put out. they seemed to just release stuff as they wrote and recorded it, which kind of let us see how each song stood in the context of the entire repertoire... it was less important for one song to be outstanding, which made it easier in the long run to be enthralled with them all. now it seems like so much importance is cast upon each and every 4.5 minute slot of record, a-, and b-side that it is kind of hard to not be overly critical. if a new album follows another album after only a year, fans and press not liking a song or two will seem pretty meager. i mean, am i the only one who thinks oasis is not nearly adventurous enough in creating records? i mean i understand the whole wanting-to-recapture-the-definitely-maybe aura or whatever, but it seems literally retarded to actually attempt to do that. to me the most obvious, easy, and fun way to recreate that d.m. kind of essence would be to get more adventurous, try more things, be confident in trying new things, and let magic come out of all of that. with the talented musicians they have now i'll be sort of appalled if they don't release a pretty creative record. but now i'm just venting. perhaps i just hate 'little by little' and i've never let my blood boil over it. and if you've made it this far down the post, i commend you wholeheartedly.
oh, and here's the standard "don't get me wrong i love oasis" line so i don't get a bunch of foolish "get out of here you're not a true fan" responses
