for starters this is my first post on this forum. I've been using this forum as a guest and today I finally decided to sign up. In any case, I was "fade in-out" on the old madferrit website if anyone was a member there.
Continuing...
I wanted to address the issue of Oasis and Glastonbury. I'd like to think of myself as a "fair" fan of Oasis- meaning I will tell you straight up if i think they rocked or if they sucked, or somewhere in between; for example, Oasis rocked at gigs such as Cardiff 96', Earls Court 96', and Farifax 2000. Oasis (for lack of a more appropriate word) sucked at Wembley Stadium (Familiar to Millions), Polumbo Center 98', and their performance on Conan O' Brien was rather embarrasing.
.....keep in mind this is only my opinion, but i am confident that many of you would agree.....
Moving along, I think Oasis played very well at Glastonbury. I've listened to the gig about 3 times now trying to find mistakes/ errors in their performance. Of course, in a live show many things can go wrong or just not sound right, and this gig is no different. Yeah Liam was out of tune at some points, especially in "Stop Crying Your Heart Out," but really when has he ever sang that song in tune, especially live? Regardless, my point is Oasis played very well and possibly one of their best performances in 5 years.
oh yeah, i almost forgot: and don't use this gig as an excuse to proclaim that "Oasis is finished," you're simply wasting my/ and everyone else's time with your idiotic rants of something that you have know not of.
thanks for reading. I look forward to discussing topics with all of you.
Cheers Allan

thanks Allan, nice start on this forum, hope you enjoy your visits yeah nice start really. but i thought they were great at wembley listening to the cd & the second night in a shithole boot. anyway... best show for me probably remains g-mex 97... it's true that it wasn't their best at Glasto but according the fact that they haven't played for a year & a half and then doing only 2 gigs... they just can't be at the top. shit i didn't have a chance to see their concert yet. but next tour they better come to milano, munich & vienna and i'm going to see them on these 3 even if i have to walk! i'm more than 500 miles from milano, even so to vienna & a bit more to munich

i can agree with alan, listening to the glasto boot though, i just don't hear that 'madferit' spirit that makes them what they are... only two gigs with a new drummer must be tough though... the new album will decide for most whether oasis should be compared with the stones or the stains of the world. lets keep our fingers crossed.

Why not? I think that'd be one hell of a statement in todays music scene... With all these popstars/pop idols going 'yes i've been in the studio and yes i have made the greatest album ever, you must go and buy it'. It'd be one of them (V-sign) to all that bollox. If ya like it buy it, if ya dont.....

I agree totally! It wans´t abad gig!! Wembley last night was bad..This was not great! But very good. rock´n roll star, bring it on down, wonderwall, songbird, superonic liam handled great stop cryin and champagne was the worst ones..but hey it´s oasis innit? I´ve seen the lads 11 times and I wasn´t there for glastonbury but it was good Zak made the songs even better, wonderwall as an example he did 100% right temp which alan never did.
To say that oasis is finnished is just totally wrong and out of this world!!
I want to hear the new songs in rellay good qual but I can make out that bell is fuckin ace

yeah nice start really. but i thought they were great at wembley listening to the cd & the second night in a shithole boot. anyway... best show for me probably remains g-mex 97... i came up with that name, i find it funny that someones actually using it anyway i think they were good at glasto, and liams voice was better than it was on most of the last tour. but i do have to agree with some of the critisism about the gig, i know liam never looks cheerful, but i miss the days when he used to talk bollocks in between songs, he was funny as fuck and the crowd loved it. that is one of the reasons i love both wembley gigs (iwas at the second one), it didn't matter that his singing was a bit dodgy, he was enetertaining, and everyone sings along anyway so you cant hear him. at glasto i thought they played like true profesionals, and zak was fucking amazing, but it just lacked a little bit of oasis magic, drunken nonsense.

after all these years i still think oasis was great on 'noel gets to the point' in 1997 and mtv unplugged 1996. same with earls court '95 and maine road '96.

I've listened also the songs of Glasto and I can't see what you against that gig. I'm not a big expert of Oasis' gigs, but I was delighted of band's performance. Zak Starkey played well. Very well. Liam got some low points in STCYHO, but... as I recall this song has never been performed so far.
I'm new here... And I'm a big.... Radiohead fanatic. But, I love Oasis too and I wait with eagerness... fanatism and... a little disappointment. I hope next one will be very good...
