IT is the news many people were dreading – LIAM GALLAGHER will be able to sing again once his busted teeth have been fixed.
Liam’s dentist quashed speculation that will he end up with a lisp by saying: “He will sing again soon.
The OASIS frontman spent nearly three hours in Dr Phillip Stemmer’s chair to start repair work on his shattered gnashers after a club brawl in Munich.
He flew back to the UK for emergency treatment after losing two of his front teeth in the violent scrap.
But Dr Stemmer told me: “He’s fine. I see no reason why he should not be able to sing again soon.
“But I cannot discuss his treatment. It would be unethical of me to do so.
“What I can add though, is that it was not an abnormal amount of time in the chair.”
Speech therapist Professor Stephen Wilder, who has trained LUCIANO PAVAROTTI, had said losing his teeth could land Liam with a lisp.
Liam arrived at Dr Stemmer’s surgery off London’s Harley Street yesterday lunchtime with three minders and girlfriend NICOLE APPLETON.
He refused to comment about the fracas and tried to hide his face following the late-night punch-up with five Italian mobsters.
As they entered the front door, Nicole gave him a playful squeeze round the waist and he repaid the affection by kissing her on the top of her head.
Nicole sat in the surgery and held Liam’s hand throughout the treatment, which will eventually cost him £20,000. And in a dubious coincidence, brother NOEL strolled past the surgery while Liam was in the dentist’s chair.
When told Liam was inside, gloating Noel raised a wry smile and asked: “Is he?”<br>
He explained: “I am just passing. I live around here” and walked on.
The brothers have not spoken to each other since Liam stormed off stage in Japan two months ago.
But Noel, furious because the fight has led to a string of tour dates being postponed or cancelled, refused to comment on the brawl.
Stemmer — who treats a host of showbiz stars including JUDE LAW, GARY KEMP and Liam’s ex-wife PATSY KENSIT — took X-rays to assess the damage.
Liam will have crowns and porcelain veneers fitted to cover up his shattered teeth.
He left the surgery at 4pm — two hours and 40 minutes after arriving, keeping his gob shut and face hidden.
Liam has beefed up his security since the fight.
His management have insisted on extra minders while he is back in Britain because they fear he could be the target of reprisal attacks.
