Best punk band ever, imo.
Why are they so fuckin good!!!??
Everything: the lyrics, the singing, the drums, the guitars, the overall sound...fuckin mega!
this band makes me so happy. Driving with the windows down, music turned up....when im tired of Oasis, put in The Clash. Fantastic haha.
yeah, anyother Clash fans out there?

Yeah I love this band
Midnight to six man For the first time from Jamaica Dillinger and Leroy Smart Delroy Wilson, your cool operator
Ken Boothe for UK pop reggae With backing bands sound systems And if they've got anything to say There's many black ears here to listen
But it was Four Tops all night with encores from stage right Charging from the bass knives to the treble But onstage they ain't got no roots rock rebel Onstage they ain't got no...roots rock rebel
Dress back jump back this is a bluebeat attack 'Cos it won't get you anywhere Fooling with your guns The British Army is waiting out there An' it weighs fifteen hundred tons
White youth, black youth Better find another solution Why not phone up Robin Hood And ask him for some wealth distribution
Punk Rockers in the UK They won't notice anyway They're all too busy fighting For a good place under the lighting
The new groups are not concerned With what there is to be learned They got Burton suits, ha you think it's funny Turning rebellion into money
All over people changing their votes Along with their overcoats If Adolf Hitler flew in today They'd send a limousine anyway
I'm the all night drug-prowling wolf Who looks so sick in the sun I'm the white man in the Palais Just lookin' for fun
I'm only Looking for fun
One of the best songs ever written (lyric wise anyway)!!

Love this line from "White Man In Hammersmith Palais":
White youth, black youth Better find another solution Why not phone up Robin Hood And ask him for some wealth distribution
Technically pretty poor, great songwriting duo, great frontman, too honest to be rich and Strummer was too young to die (I'm not talking about Sid Vicious here)
live4evr, try to get "Westway To The World". It's a great documentary.

Joe Strummer was a legend, did anyone see the piece in the NME about 30 years of the Clash. In it, Mick Jones said the last time he saw Joe, he gave him a copy of Up The Bracket, but did not know if he listened to it or not. Personally, I bet he'd have loved it!!
Does anyone know much about Joe Strummer's last band, Joe Strummer and the Mescaleoes? Their album Streetcore was excellent, there was a cover of bob marley's redemption song, one of Joe's best vocal performances.
Was this their only album or did they have any others? Any recommendations?

They released 3 albums in total: Rock Art And The X-Ray Style Global A Go-Go Streetcore Personally I don't fancy his years as an actor, but love "Mistery Train" and "Rudy Boy" is still class.
