I was just listening to "Nevermind the Bollocks" (for the ten thousandth time) and I was wondering, if the Pistols could've kept it together to record a second album, what would've sounded like? Would it have been more of the same or would the Pistols have been moving towards a more experimental sound the PiL later adopted?

I just can't see they would kept it together after their painfull US tour and if they would have recorded a second album, that would never have been sounded like the PIL cos PIL was made of and made for Rotten (Lydon), but not for Steve Jones.
Glen Matlock formed a good band called Rich Kids together with Midge after he was kicked out the Pistols btw.

The Pistols were the embodiment of self destruction. If they made another album I think it would have been a pile of shite.

I think listening to the Great RocknRoll Swindle (not BHN) gives a clue to what a second album would have been like. Mostly forgettable bits and pieces cobbled together with the odd memorable and worthwhile tune.
First album is brilliant still today.

For me, the thing that always sticks with me from Sex Pistols is the guitar work. I love Steve Jones’ straight forward approach, and he created some of the most iconic riffs that are spread across that album

Once in a while I need to pick this album and listen to it on full volume.

Just got this today. Loving disc two, demos and alternate mixes. Rode my bike through the snow to the mall to buy it when it came out. Got back to my friends house and his dad saw that bright pink record in my hand and yelled at me "I will not have that God damned filth in my house" then he left. We proceeded to pinch some of his brothers weed and guzzle a shitload of beers and played that record for hours. I was 13 For a kid raised on Beatles and stoner rock, it was a right kick in the head. Still hits me the same today
