Yes some songs are amazing especillay little wing, but some are just average. As for elvis i just can't stand him. him, rolling stones, madonna and abba are the most overated acts ever.

im sorry like Ross but I have to jump in at this point! ive seen you champion Razorlight as the best live band around for the past few months, so for you to now say such legendary live acts as Jimi Hendrix, Elvis, Rolling Stones and Madonna are over-rated.... its pretty fucking baffling mate!! im not anti-razorlight, i love golden touch, stumble and fall, and a few others. and was really looking forward to their latest album. but after 5 or 6 average tracks... ive yet to finish listening to it. You want over-rated, there it is many artists mentioned above, changed the face of music and even life itself in some cases. Razorlight will never do that maybe you should take just one more listen of Purple Haze....

Razorlight will never do that maybe you should take just one more listen of Purple Haze.... purple haze is brilliant and i have the hendrix Woodstock dvd and his greatest hits. i am a fan i just feel he is a little overrated. Elvis, i can understand why people like his early work, but lets face it is output was patchy, he made far to many films and didn't even bother to visit Britain. Yes his manager had a lot to do with his negative's but at the end of the day had elvis not been around when he was and have been one of the first rock stars he would not be thought of so highly. it was all about timing for him. And don't forget he was one of the main reasons cliff richards became a singer Rolling stones, satisfaction aside, i don't know a decent song of theirs, i've watched tv programmes on them wanting to be a fan but i can't see anything in them. plus their singer is a twat. And Madonna i find boring. As for Razorlight i have never claimed they would change the face of music, but i will claim that Up All Night was the best album of 2004, and i judge this on the fact that it is the album i listen to most from that year. Razorlight is my favourite album of this year so far. And this year there gig at the albert hall was the best gig i have been to this year along with richard ashcroft and coldplay's isle of wight sets. And razorlight showcased about 5 new tracks that i hadn't heard before. i fully expect the 2 gigs of theirs later on in the year to be the 2 of my top 3 gigs of the year. Noel Gallagher being the other. Razorlight are brilliant, and anyone that doesn’t think that has my deepest sympathy.

And Madonna i find boring. . hehe. nice reply mate. You remind me of a young me..... not much younger though... perhaps even a couple of years older... and i do agree with a few of your points - im not a huge fan of the stones, elvis or madonna. however theres just something in my brain that says its downright bizarre to hold a band like razorlight in such high esteem whilst playing down the merits of genuine legendary acts that have lasted the test of time as for the rolling stones im slightly confused coz if johnny burrell is imitating one man - its mick jagger! ive never seen razorlight live but i saw a gig of theirs on TV a couple of months ago and they were quite disappointing. Johnny's vocals were slapdash at best. he positively ruined Stumble and Fall by singing it like a sheep The Rolling Stones - Paint it Black, Sympathy for the Devil, Jumping Jack Flash, Angie. Theyve done some great songs - infinitely better than that god awful America on the new Razorlight album. i might listen to Razorlight again tonight. i really wanted that album to be a good one and maybe i slag them off now so much coz it was such a let down....

man i said some utter shit in this thread. Don't feel bad .....I remember one night , on one of many nights over drinking. Self medicating , and generally being stoned outta my ass , I actually thought I had a REVELATION , ...... JIMI SHOULD HAVE GOTTEN A LEAD SINGER AND JUST CONCENTRATE ON GUITAR CAUSE HIS SINGING BLOWS ...... Had one friend fall out of his chair , whether it was from the drugs or my Assinine statement I don't know , In my defense I was 16 ....... Damn DS ACTUALLY MADE SENSE IN THIS THREAD , IM SHOCKED

God bless.
