I am gonna get ripped ot there will be no responses to this.
I was told Rick Rubin produced this new album. And they had some rock guys help with the writng with some songs.
I've been driving in my vehicle for 3 days now and I think this album is amazing.
It is a great produced album.
Yes there are steel guitars, fiddles, and some banjos, but the lyrics and music is outstanding. I hate Natalie Maines political views but her voice is beautiful
This could be a album of the year candidate IMO
If you want to hear some great songs and great musicianship pm me for a few tunes

seems like the demand for the dixie chicks was greater in Canada than it was in the US. Their shows here sold out in no time, and they even added extra shows... I don't see why they've become so big here.
I bet lions is a fan of leann rimes as well

I think they have some great harmonies, lyrical and musical talent.
my best friend kelly plays guitar and opened me up to them...
I love me some traditional music when I am in the mood - banjo, fiddle, dobro, etc..
No shame here...
* in the USA "real country" music and folk music has always had a political voice... no big deal...

what kind of political opinions? Natalie Maines said at a London gig that the band were ashamed the President was from Texas. It caused a big controversey so she made this apology: "As a concerned American citizen, I apologize to President Bush because my remark was disrespectful. I feel that whoever holds that office should be treated with the utmost respect. We are currently in Europe and witnessing a huge anti-American sentiment as a result of the perceived rush to war. While war may remain a viable option, as a mother, I just want to see every possible alternative exhausted before children and American soldiers' lives are lost. I love my country. I am a proud American." Then they appeared naked on the cover of Entertainment Weekly. Because pissing people off is what will protect our boys the most.

people are twats for disliking a band cos they don't like the president. it would be like me not liking Oasis cos they support man city.

since when saying the truth is such a big problem? so she's anti bush, who fuckin cares?! it's not like she's gonna influence people's minds or whatever, people already thought at that time that bush was doing everything the wrong way
edit: nevermind, I wasn't thinking like an american. I agree with ross. people can be really stupid sometimes

people are twats for disliking a band cos they don't like the president. it would be like me not liking Oasis cos they support man city. Lives don't hang in the balance over who wins a football match, so I'll have to differ with you on that comparison. To use an overblown perspective, if Osama bin Laden releases a folk rock album with a few songs that I really like, I'm still not going to rush out and buy it. If Paul Weller comes out today and says we should institute mandatory euthanasia for all citizens over 65, I might hold off on his next album. Again, that's way overblown, and to an extent I can seperate the artist from the art. But there's a point where I still have to look at where the sentiments I crave are coming from. Does the person really have an attitude about life and the world that I share, or is it all bull, which thereby cheapens my experience? I don't feel that way to the extent of just having a view I don't agree with means I'm not going to buy your album. But making remarks like that toward a President during a war to get attention is heavy stuff. So I can still play devil's advocate and understand why people reacted that way.

Now talk about lives hanging in the balance. That was exactly my point. Mine or your personal views on Bush are irrelevant - either way it's a sensitive issue and comparing it to something that trivial is disproportionate.
