Been listening to some Arctic Monkey's in recent days, and I'm starting to come around.
This House is a Circus is one of my favorites - the lyrics are pure class, everything about that song works.
Old Yellow Bricks is equally as clever.
Favorite Worst Nightmare is perhaps my favorite album of their's - although Humbug is close, and I HATED THAT FUCKING ALBUM for the longest time.
Slowly coming around to Suck it And Sea - still the weakest, but the second half is strong. (Hellcat, Love is Like A Laserquest, Piledrive Waltz, Reckless Serenade, Stunts - all phenomenal. The rest is filler. But my opinion my change.....).
And AM is the reverse, with a strong opening, and just utter dross filler (with the exception of Call Me When You're High).
Maybe AM and Suck It will reverse course like Humbug did. Suck It is slowly doing so....
When Turner is on form, he is brilliant. But I just find too many fillers on albums that are uninspiring on the HC level....
My opinions shift so dramatically with this band, something that I don't experience with any other artist. And for that, I'll keep on listening.

More on topic with the thread, one of his finest ever lines:
I took the batteries out my mysticism and put them in my thinking cap.
^That is just utter brilliance.

Not gonna lie, this is brilliant:
And do you still think love is a laserquest Or do you take it all more seriously? I've tried to ask you this in some daydreams that I've had But you're always busy being make believe

I fancy you with a passion You're a Topshop princess, a rockstar too But you're a fad, you're a fashion And I'm having a job trying to talk to you
Still Take You Home. Think it's probably my favourite Monkey's song.

This always makes me laugh:
"Clinging to not getting sentimental, Said she wasn't going but she went still Likes her gentlemen not to be gentle, Was it a Mecca Dobber or a betting pencil?"

"My Mistakes Were Made For You" About as subtle as an earthquake, I know, My mistakes were made for you. And in the backroom of the bad dream, she came, And whisked me away, enthused. And we're just following the flock, Around and in-between, Before we're smashed to smithereens Like they were, then we scramble from the blame And it's the fame that put words in her mouth, She couldn't help, but spit them out. Innocence and arrogance entwined, In the filthiest of minds for me, the best song of the album Was just thinking about that one, great lyrics and a belting tune over all, is that the one with the line about a rock falling and will "probably hit something in a hazard this terrain"? Love that line. I'd much rather have another Last Shadow Puppets album than more Monkeys at the minute tbh, I love the sound of the songs on the first one, even if there is a fair bit of filler

This is frigging brilliant imo, from 'Teddy Picker'
"Another variation on a theme, A tangle on the television and a magazine D'you reckon that they do it for a joke? D'you reckon that they make 'em take an oath? That says that 'we are defenders Of any poser or professional pretender around'"
